** spoiler alert **In Book 3, the Damaged intensely, powerful, dominant, strong-willed sexy alpha Edward Fasbender, CEO of Accelecom, continues his quest to destroy everyone who was involved in the demise of his families empire. Though the path of his destruction part of his plan was to marry Celia Werner so he could take over Werner Media. Problem was along the way he never expected to fall for his damaged beautiful "bird". "You belong here, bird. You don't have to do anything to belong because this is your home, and you are my wife, and you are mine. That's all you have to be for now." I f---ing love you so much that I can't separate myself from you anymore Celia." While Edward was hoping to have Celia join him in the planning of the ultimate "REVENGE" on the person who was responsible for Celia's traumatized childhood. It wasn't until she learned that they were still conducting those meetings all the while she believed she was the only one that she agreed to join his quest. The chemistry of these two characters astonish me the give and take between them. "You like me to fight you because it turns you on, or whatever, but you still expect to always win. I'm only supposed to think I have a chance at getting what I want. Eventually, I'm going to realize its's futile." I keep falling for these two damaged characters. Celia desperately wants acceptance from his sister because she does love her brother and the one thing to complete them would be to have a child of their own only problem is Edward doesn't want one or does he. He would do anything for his "bird" including murder. It is not until Edward leaves for the "final closure" of her childhood does she really begin to know the depths of what he would do for her. She leaves and returns to the states but when he comes after her does he get the unexpected. What a cliffhanger! Can't wait for Slay Quartet #4 -Rising

    This is book Three of the Slay series which features Edward Fasbender and, of course, Celia Werner aka Celia Fasbender. Wow this story was really action packed. Celia is back from Amelie Island 🏝️ and has become the Lady of the house at Edward's London home. Camila Edward's sister has moved to her own place. In this story we get to meet Marion, Edward's ex-wife and mother of his two adult children, Genevieve and Hagan. Marion is there for Genevieve's graduation from Cambridge. This story has so many layers. I really enjoyed reading this story because it put so many pieces of the puzzle that was missing for me together. It has the usual angst, lies, betrayal and secrets but it was definitely good. By the way it had a twist at the end but it definitely answered some questions for me from the Fixed Series. I definitely would recommend this book 📚📖 and of course the series.

    Celia has been broken down and now Edward is focusing on building her back up. They are back home in London and the two are working to establish their new norm.

    Celia is coming to some conclusions about who she is and what she needs. Edward is right by her side helping her work through her past and accept her future. She needs to be controlled, yet she is resistant. Edward wants control but enjoys the challenge she presents.

    And now that Celia is moving forward, Edward is ready to exact revenge on those that hurt her. The only problem is, Edward has a hard time drawing a line between getting justice and letting his thirst for revenge consume him.

    Their love is complicated. Celia is willing to make concessions in their relationship but she wants the same from Edward. He struggles with giving up complete control. Some fights cannot be won. It will be up to each of them to decide how much they are willing to sacrifice to be happy.

    I continue to enjoy their journey. Edward has finally shown how much he loves Celia. However, his struggles are real and he may just be sabotaging the best thing he's ever had. I am ready for the conclusion because that ending left me wanting more. And watching Celia find her strength and become a person she can be proud of is rewarding. This story leans toward the darker side, but I am invested and cannot wait to see where the author takes this couple.

    Revenge is sweet isn’t it?! Especially when Edward Fasbender is dishing it out! He is so methodical, calculating and beyond patient. He’s got a long-game for sure and can sit back and watch it all payout in front of him, like a slow paced and methodical chess match.

    In Revenge, the reader gets even more details into Celia’s upbringing and I’ll tell you, even I wanted to take to Celia’s uncle Ron, like completely eliminate him off the face of the planet. His actions are reprehensible. I honestly have no idea how Laurelin was able to write these bits, but she did. And with the utmost of sensitivity to the situation, she gives you the exact amount of detail.

    One of the many things I love about Laurelin Paige’s writing is how she is able to capture my attention. She’s able to convey so much emotion with her characters. They are completely flawed, yet you are rooting for them to achieve happiness in their lives. Yes, even Celia! (I can’t believe I just said that?!) My intention was to go to the grave despising that woman, however through Laurelin’s storytelling abilities…I changed my mind. I didn’t think it was ever possible, but here we are! Me, wanting Celia to find happiness and love in her life. I’m feeling rather defeated right now! Lol!

    One more installment to go in this quartet! And I’m ready to see what kind of happiness Laurelin delivers for Celia and Edward.

    A few more layers are peeled back and more revealed about the younger Edward's life and that of his sister Camilla. I didn't take to Camilla at first. She seemed cold and angry, with her own secrets to hide, but now after finding out more about her, I like her. Edward wants revenge on those that hurt his family and Celia but does Celia want the same thing? She's changed so much because she's in love. Really in love for the first time. No game playing. No pretense. Completely and utterly in love and I love that she is and love that Edward loves her back. It's just magical! Celia and Camilla go along with Edward's plan and revenge is indeed sweet. There is only one person remaining on his list the man who taught Celia the game and she refuses to reveal who the mysterious 'A' is. In an effort to get Celia to reveal all she leaves and goes to her parents. Edward can't live without her and arrives to find that Celia has an even bigger revelation for him. Such an enjoyable read and to feel so much compassion for a woman who I never thought I would have anything good to say about shows us just how talented Laurelin Paige is. We wait for the conclusion which will bring everything to a head and maybe even a happy ever after for Edward and Celia.

    The impossible has happened.
    I've officially fallen head over heels in love with Edward Fasbender.

    I truly did not think this would happen considering I absolutely loathed him in Rivalry, and then I grew to only slightly like him after reading Ruin. Devouring Revenge made me see a different side to him though - one where he completely stole my heart with his displays of affection, his devotion to those he loves, and his vulnerabilities that had me hugging my Kindle to my chest and just soaking in this un-Edward-like moment.

    I mean, he was still a manipulative and hypocritical jerk - and many times I was wondering why Celia was still with him - but thanks to the fact that Revenge is told in dual POV where the chapters alternate equally between Celia and Edward's perspectives, it meant that we really got to see a different side to him that we never got to before, especially since some of his chapters are told in the pasts' perspective where we get to learn even more about this devil B.C. (before Celia). More so, we learn more about his relationships with both his sister Camilla, and his ex-wife Marion.

    I feel like if you've been craving to have more from Edward and just more of him in general, then you will not be disappointed with all that Laurelin delivers here in the third instalment of this quartet.

    Spanning over the course of a year, Revenge picks up around six weeks after where Ruin left off; Celia is now back in London with Edward, and a plan is being devised to get revenge on the man who ruined their childhoods'. Celia is very much on board to take down the monster who haunts her, and finally free herself from the chains that tie her to her past. But when Edward starts to seek revenge on everyone who's wronged Celia in the past, she finds her future being put on hold as she's caught between Edward's need to avenge, and her desire to finally move on and be happy and free.

    But it's as the story progresses that we see that it's not just Celia's past that needs to be confronted and put to rest, and when Edward's past comes walking into his present, he's forced to finally face all he's fought to avoid, and finally settle all that's been left unresolved.

    Revenge just consumed me from the very first page; it was angst-filled, romantic, dramatic and sexy, and it was such an emotional and intense read too that I couldn't help but be kept hooked until the very last word. It was as dark and unpredictable as Rivalry and Ruin was, and it was quite triggering at times what with the sensitive subjects that Laurelin tackles here when it came to talking about Celia's past, along with all that goes down in the last 20% of this novel - so be prepared for that.

    But honestly, Revenge was everything I hoped and thought it'd be, and it is so far and by far my favourite book of the Slay Quartet.

    Edward completely stole the show for me here thanks to the fact we got more from his perspective, but Celia also left her mark on me too as she made my heart race with her courage, her sass and her strength, yet made it break too with her fears and vulnerabilities, and if I wasn't already in love with her before devouring this story, then I'd have fallen head over heels after reading Revenge.

    It was honestly BRILLIANT, and I'm now so excited to see how it is Laurelin ends this phenomenal series in its final book: Rising. I'm ready to see these characters' reaction to that cliffhanger of an ending here in Revenge (well, ONE certain character's reaction anyway), but more than anything else, I'm ready to finally get an answer as to what that note meant that was dropped on us unexpectedly at the very end of Fixed Forever.

    But I just know that no matter what, Laurelin Paige will blow my mind with all she delivers next in Rising, and that she'll end this series in a way that does Celia and Edward's romance justice.
