It took a while to get there and shows what the LGBTQ+ community has to deal with even today. Too bad the epilogue didn't go further in telling us how the characters end up in their later years. Still, it deserved a 5 star rating.

    A really well written and lovely story - blissfully lacking in the typos and mistakes you find in a lot of these books that detract from my enjoyment. Well worth a read, although be warned, pick a day when you have a few hours to read uninterrupted as once you start you won't want to stop! My only frustration was not knowing what some of the songs they covered on the road actually were! I'm assuming this is a debut for this author, as I can't find any other books, which only makes it even more impressive and makes me look forward to reading more of her work... hopefully in the near future 😊
