Quinn Harper is living the life she always wanted. She’s well-liked and respected by everyone and has been a success in life with awards to prove it. She spends her free time running along the shore, returning to her quiet home on the beach.
It was almost the perfect life, but there was one thing missing: Love.
And when she notices the stranger sitting on the shore, she has no idea just how much that moment will impact the rest of her life.
Natasha is a mystery. A woman broken and on the verge of doing something drastic, Quinn is moved to help. Befriending and earning her trust, they begin to build a relationship and a story that could have been written for the TV show Quinn works on.

Claire Highton-Stevenson is a British Indie author. She writes heartwarming, Sapphic romance in contemporary settings. Claire's characters are bold, strong, independent women who love women.

However, she is also known to throw in a mystery or two. Claire likes to move around the tropes at will, and will often bend the rules to create exciting and often unique situations. She's not afraid to tackle darker topics either.

I am just so awestruck by this story. Claire Highton-Stevenson has brought a powerful storyline that touches really harsh issues for women. Quinn is a strong woman who writes stories for a living. She's one of the best. Natasha is a broken woman who is ready to not be in her world anymore. Meeting Quinn will change everything. This story has brutal content and some violent experiences that no one should experience. I physically felt ill and so angry that I wanted to throw the book- thankfully I didn't. I kept thinking to I have to read this? I could not let it go because the characters were just so raw and vulnerable my heart felt perseverance was the only way. To find such evil in a person that portrayed a larger than life ego but brilliant work in Hollywood was easy. To see the visceral violence on another human was gut wrenching, the author let you feel these moment. To only loose the career seemed like an injustice for the brutality but to see the growth Natasha made having left her abuser was a tear filled moment. The journey Quinn made was equally important to reach the place where they could give each other the love that saved. I am convinced that this author has a depth of writing she has only tapped and this story proves the depth is so real. It was a hard story to read but my love for the characters and the way it unfolds made it so hard to put down (life gets in the way). What a story, this one will sit with me for a while.

Such full and rich character development. You are pulled in from the start and will love the journey. I like CHS books because they are not merely focused on getting to the "good stuff." Her books provide you with a deeply satisfying experience.

This is a very intense, dynamic, and beautiful story. Worth the read. There is domestic violence and there is adultery as well just so you are warned. There is some punctuation errors, and paragraphs that are a little out of place due to spacing, but I didn't think it took away from the story. I think it's an interesting tale of determination, change, and love.

It doesn't surprise me that I simply couldn't put this book down, this author is one of my favorites. Her stories are amazing and this one another excellent one. I knew at the start that reading it would be difficult, as the story deals with domestic abuse, actually torture. I know people that have been abused and it destroys you in every way. Highton-Stevenson engages you from the first page, and you find yourself rooting for the MCs but you know that in order to save their love, they needed to part.
I won't give the story away but simply say, it is poignant, engaging, it lifts your heart and makes you realize the power of love. If mountains need to be move, love will move them. Highton-Stevenson is a great storyteller, this book just proofs that once more. I also loved the involvement of some of her other characters from previous stories. So I hope to read about Natasha and Quinn again. Excellent book, I recommend it.

This book is an easy page-turner of a read and I couldn’t put it down. Now that I have finished it, all I can say is Wow, just wow!
Claire Highton-Stevenson has created characters whose lives are turned up side down by one man jealousy and violence. For one it’s an escapee any means possible. While for the other it’s an instant unknown force to help this vulnerable stranger seen sitting on the beech all alone in the cold. What transpires is a journey that takes each MC in directions to find one’s self that isn’t necessary together, yet not very far apart. Be prepared for deep emotions… sympathy & empathy while also sexy, gritty and joy.
What a wonderful love story and I would Definitely recommend!
    Bravo, well done! 5⭐️

Stranger on the Shore is a story that brutally assaults your heart and your sense of safety. Natasha, the troubled stranger, seeks solace on the beach at Quinn’s Malibu home earned by her success as an Oscar-winning screenwriter. Quinn offers the woman a safe haven for what becomes a few hours weekly and the two grow close, more intimately enmeshed in each other’s life than either realizes. Because of Highton-Stevenson’s painful, explicit descriptions, emotionally I found myself keenly inside Natasha’s devastating world. Likewise, I could empathize with Quinn’s frustration and anger over being unable to rescue her lover.

After the two intersect away from Quinn’s home, the reality of their tangled relationship reveals itself. Highton-Stevenson’s tale of Quinn’s trying to sort herself apart from Natasha and Tasha’s work to reclaim her soul will break your heart but endear you to the lovers’ story and their resolution.

A heavier subject that may be triggering for some, domestic violence ‘at is best’ is being dealt with in Stranger On the Shore. But on the happy front this is a romance so it does come with a HEA which is established in the Prologue. And we’re back in Cam Thomas’s world but her sister Caroline is taking centre stage this time. Could it be Caroline’s toaster over story coming next? One can hope. Back to Stranger on Shore, definitely worth a read.

Quinn & Tahsa`s love story will take you through every possible human emotion, & at times it becomes painful & heart breaking to read. It also has fun, passion, & appearances by a few old friends to add to the interest. These amazing women both have much to tell about their own lives as the story unfolds, so make yourself comfortable, shut out the world for a few hours, & enjoy yet another incredibly beautiful tale from Claire

A very tough and touching read from Claire which realistically conveys the horror of domestic abuse. She approaches a difficult subject with sensitivity and understanding. Loveable Main characters tread a sometimes painful path to their happy ever after despite hiccups along the way. Highly recommend her writing but it comes with a trigger warning !
