Submariner Sinclair: A thrilling WW2 military adventure story (The Submariner Sinclair Naval Thriller Series Book 1) Kindle Edition
Mediterranean, 1942
Britain is at war with Germany. Responsible for protecting British convoys in the Channel in a small Chaser, young Peter Sinclair, R.N., is thrown head-first into the horrors of war.
Sent to serve in H.M. Submarine Rugged, defending convoys delivering food and supplies to the besieged island of Malta, Sub-Lieutenant Sinclair finds himself 120 feet beneath the sea, surrounded by deadly mines and just three miles from the enemy’s doorstep.
In a bold night raid on a small harbour on the north African coast, the famous ‘Fighting Tenth’ Submarine Flotilla comes under attack by enemy E-boats, whose relentless depth-charging threaten to sink Rugged to the bottom of the ocean.
When the Captain of a British submarine is captured, Sinclair, Able Seaman Bill Hawkins and a crack team of Commandos undertake a deadly mission to rescue the officer from a German-controlled prison on an Italian island.
But can they outwit a lethal enemy? Or will Sinclair’s first taste of submarine warfare be his last?
SUBMARINER SINCLAIR is the first book in the Submariner Sinclair naval thriller series: rip-roaring authentic historical adventures following a British submarine crew during World War II.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2021This is a thrilling novel taking place during WW II. The year is 1942 and a young RN named Peter Sinclair is attached to H. M. Sub Rugged.
This submarine has the duties of defending convoys and also delivering supplies...
Then, the unexpected occurs and a rescue plan is put into place... The rescue is on for a sub Commander. Here come the Commandos and several others...
Characters are well defined, plot is solid and enjoyed the read.
Lots of excitement and thrills in this one...Will definitely read on to the second one in this series... Had to acclimate myself to get used to the designations for the sailors. The author put a list in the front of the book which was most helpful.
Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2021After having read all the Alan Evans and Max Hennessy, I thought I would give this book a shot. Entertaining and a a good attempt. I'll read the second one in the series to see if it's more plausible

- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2021The island of Malta and allied forces based there are the essential barriers between the direct source of vital supplies for German and Italian forces operating in North Africa. Sub warfare is intense against the enemy and convoys. Subs also are essential for delivering essential supplies to keep Malta functioning. An interesting look at the British navy during these critical early days. Worth the time.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2021The story told here could be true to life. Duty on board the sub was super difficult but it comes through safe and sound.
The depth charges were horrific but the culmination of the story was wonderful.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 29, 2021If you enjoy sub stories check these books out. The old subs give the reader how tough the early tin cans were to sail and live in. Realistic story with lots of action that came across well.
Recommend to anyone interested in this subject.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2022Loved the storyline. As usual, the hero of the book comes out smelli g like a rose but he did take his links and his companion in the vook came to the rescue again.

4.0 out of 5 stars a few loose ends
I enjoyed this first book of the series. Just was disappointed at the end with a few loose ends. These may be tied up in the sequel. I’ll have to and see.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great yarn.
Enjoyable read. Great characters without being too over the top. Keeps you in suspense right to the end of the book.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not all Germans were bloodthirsty Nazis
The story as such is not so bad, but to describe all the Germans as bloodthirsty Nazis is way to one sided. Other authors who write about the same period do this much better!
And the author could at least try to get his German a bit better...
I will give the next book a try and if it doesn't get better, I will go back to other authors, like Phillip K. Allan, Alan Savage, McCutchan, Reeman, Wareham, Alaric Bond, Justin Fox and others.
And I don't write this because I'm Austrian or have sympathies for Nazis, but because I read a lot on the time. And also talked with relatives who were in the war.

3.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculas ending!
Assault on Italian castle unbelievable. No self-respecting commando would leave a prisoner unbound or ungagged! Also: Leaving clothing on the beach while being pursued by men and dogs. Again ridiculous!
