The gun I held with both hands hit the dirt, and I hit my knees. "Kitten," I rasped out, shoving Liam away and reaching for her. "Kitten, honey, where are you hit?"
I gripped her shoulders and pulled her into me, scanning her face, her neck, her shoulders, panicking, searching for a bullet wound, looking for blood.
Her eyes popped open. "Alex," she whispered.
My stare sprang to hers. "Tell me, baby. Tell me where you're hit."
She sighed a little and snuggled close, then suddenly stiffened and wrenched away.I went to grab her back, still freaking the fuck out, but she yelled, "I'm not shot!"
I reached for her anyway. She grasped my hand and glared at me. "Alex! I'm not shot!"
I fell back onto my haunches, still gripping her hand so she had to move a little with me. "You aren't?"
"No."She held her arms out. "See?"
Anger filled my throat. "Then what the fuck were you groaning on the ground for?"
Good God! She took nearly twenty years off my life!
"Because this creep threw me on the ground and jumped on me!"
Daniel came out of nowhere, grabbing up Liam by the back of his neck and putting him a choke hold.
I lurched up and shook my head. "It's Liam."
Daniel dropped him immediately. "My bad."
"You're f-ing lucky you didn't put a bullet in him," I swore.
"Sorry,"Daniel said, sheepish.
Liam straightened his shirt and glanced at me, lifting a brow. "Kitten? Honey?Baby?"
"F you, Mattison."
He turned to Sabrina. "You have a real name?"
She crossed her arms over her chest and sniffed. "You're bigger on TV."
Liam grinned. "Still took you to the ground."
"You better watch yourself." I warned him.
Liam took my threat mildly, squinting at me. "I take it you know this little criminal?"
Sabrina gasped.
I laughed.

Getting to know Alex's parents and Sabrina's brother. The connection every one shares, the edge of your seat moments, the romance, second chances, the setting, and Cambria's beautiful storytelling. Make for another book, by one of my favorite authors, that I couldn't put down.

    We know Alex from the first three books of the Bearpaw Series (Liam & Bellamy’s story), but this is his stand-alone story. I enjoyed it so much! Alex was in the army & got his nickname Ice from his team because he could flip a switch to do his job, go subzero. But Sabrina’s love helps him not go subzero. You can read the blurb to get the gist of the story, but it made me smile & it made me cry. As I’ve said before, this author knows how to write stories & characters that make me feel. From the first three books, I knew that he was that charming but mysterious guy we met before, but I loved getting to know about Alex’s past even though it broke my heart. I also knew that he was loyal & would do anything to protect his family, & I knew he would do anything to protect Sabrina. I loved that Sabrina stood up to Alex & tried to put him in his place! I also loved that she was just as willing to do anything to protect him. I did not see that end coming, & I absolutely loved it! This book is so good that you will not regret reading it!

    In Subzero we finally get Alex’s story. I’ve adored him since book one and have been excited to see him get his happy like his best friends Liam and Bellamy.

    Alex is a wonderful character. He’s not only protective and gorgeous, but he’s also funny and charming. Sabrina was perfect for him. She’s beautiful and snarky and had no problem standing up to the bossy man Alex could be. I thought it worked out well that Alex and Sabrina had met in the past and were basically torn apart. You could feel their tension being around each other again, and at the same time you could feel the love that still existed and the need they felt for each other.

    This has been such a great series and I hate that it’s supposed to be over. I’ll miss these characters and hope that maybe we’ll get a novella or another book to allow us to catch up with Alex and Sabrina as well as Liam and Bellamy.

We learn so much more about what Alex went through while he was in the military and how that changed him as a person. So Intense. Sabrina was just his perfect match, she did not let him railroad her, she gave as good as she got, and just refused, refused to give up on her feelings on Alex. It was suspenseful, but still sweet, and I loved going on their love journey with them.

    No spoiler alert but happy with the ending. Not happy though that Cambria says this is the end of the series😪. What about Daniel's story? Such a key figure in the narrative even though he really only appears at the beginning and the end. Sorry but want more!!!

    What a way to end a series! I wanted to know more about Alex from the moment I met him. And this story lives up to everything! As is always the case with Cambria Hebert, this book, this whole series sucks you in and gives you all the feels. I adore the characters, I adore BearPaw resort. I want to live there, I want to meet Liam, Alex, Bellamy and Sabrina. I want to visit the shops and drink hot chocolate! Hebert is brilliant and writing a family of characters, a family you want to spend lots of time with.

    Hebert is my go to author, any book she writes is pure magic, but I especially LOVE the family feel she gives and the way every reader feels included in that family.
