Has Suzy found where her heart belongs…?
Having recently lost her mother, 38-year-old Suzy Summers is anxious to make a fresh start. Leaving behind her old life in England, she flees to the idyllic village of Fleurus-le-Comte in Northern France.
On arrival, Suzy crosses paths with Jean Christophe, an unhappily married farmer. Irritated by his apparent conceit, she vows to have nothing to do with him.
However, as Suzy settles into village life, she and Jean Christophe are thrown together more and more. Witnessing his kindness and charm, Suzy softens and they form a tentative friendship.
Among the peaceful hills and rivers of the beautiful valley, Suzy’s weary spirit begins to heal. But as she finds herself falling for a man who already belongs to another, she begins to wonder whether she can bear to stay…
Has Suzy found her forever home? Is Jean Christophe the man for her?
Or will she come to regret her hasty French escape…?

About the author

Ros used to work as a head teacher, writing reports, policy documents and stories to which young children would enjoy listening. Now retired, she enjoys the more challenging activity of writing for adults.
After living in France for eleven years, Ros found much inspiration in the people and places. More recently she is living in the UK again and likes to go dog walking or ballroom dancing with her husband. Although she has been caught out once or twice it’s not usually at the same time!
Two daughters and four granddaughters also enjoy Ros’s books and support with answering questions.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2022It had a good story. It dragged in spots - it was repetitive. The beginning was good. The end of the book was much better than the middle. The middle dragged. Same bickering between folks, same drama with Edward, etc. The ending was the best! 💗

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely satisfying read.
I enjoyed this very much. The French setting is wonderfully vivid and the characters so French. I particularly loved Madame Marie. I have stayed in a French B and B with exactly the same slightly scary lady owner. I thought Melodie was also very true to life - the way she spoke and how she slept with her arms up. I could see her with her toys and playing Happy Families. I spotted the dark cloud that was going to change her life, but that did not detract from my enjoyment. Suzy has excellent taste - what’s not to love about Jean Chri?
