Angie owns a coffee shop and bakery in a small town on the coast of Massachusetts, but her building has been purchased and the new landlord doesn't renew her lease so she has to find a different location. When a regular customer who is much beloved by the town dies under suspicious circumstances after having coffee at the shop, Angie learns that she has inherited the woman's rambling Victorian home. Angie immediately begins making plans to renovate the house as a site not only for her shop, but also for a B&B and a jewelry shop run by her sisters. In the meantime, mysterious events keep happening at the house and Angie and her sisters work to determine who is behind those occurrences, as well as trying to figure out who would have killed the former owner of the house. After the killer is apprehended, Angie and her sisters set about relocating the coffee shop to the Victorian.

If you are looking for a quick read, this would be a good choice. The sisters were likable enough and there is the possibility of romance for two of them. I did figure out "whodunnit" fairly early in the book, although I didn't figure out how the murder was accomplished and I felt the motive was pretty thin. There are several more books in the series which I will read as I come across them.

I love the characters and their stories in this series. I'm re-reading it now to catch up with the ones I've missed while reading other books. I love feeling immersed in the world of the Roseland sisters. It is the type of familial relationship that I wish I had enjoyed with my own birth family but never did. When I start feeling like the world is full of mean and selfish people, spending time in Sweet Cove helps me feel less like I want to hide in my home and avoid all people. I have other things in my life that do this for me, but reading about these ladies and their experiences helps when I can't go somewhere else or be with the real people who help pull me out of my funk. I recommend these stories to anyone who wants to feel better about life, whether or not you believe in paranormal things. Just plain, good, clean stories filled with folks who want to take care of each other.

A great introduction to a new series. Her dream has always been to run a bakery/cafe but with the lease running out on her present location and no hope of renewal that is now a dream in ruins. To compound matters one of her regular customers drops dead and her name is under suspicion especially once the will is read. Okay the culprit was obvious but the plot was well woven and written, with great red herrings.Plus the characters are all well developed and the sister's relationship is well portrayed. The introduction of paranormal abilities was well handled and introduced in a very subtle way. Can't wait to read the next one.
