Book 1 in the sizzling enemies-to-lovers paranormal romance saga

These are dangerous times on Etherya's Earth...

Slayer Princess Miranda has hated the Vampyres for a thousand years. Since the Awakening, she's fought to protect her people, choosing to be a warrior more than a royal. When a female Vampyre washes up on the shore of her compound's riverbank, she seizes the opportunity to take the offensive.

Vampyre King Sathan, distraught at his sister's captivity, agrees to travel with Miranda to extract the Blade of Pestilence, also hoping to change his people's state of endless war. Although the woman hates him due to the constant raids on her compound for the Slayers' life-giving blood, he can't help but admire the stubborn and strong princess.

Determined to fight their growing attraction, they forge a tentative truce while Miranda battles the constant yearning to feel the hulking Vampyre's fangs
scrape against her neck...

Their faith in each other must remain strong or all will be lost...

Review

"All I can say for sure, is when the sexual tension does get relieved (double entendre 100% intended), it is absolutely electric. I've spent time in rooms with molten lead that were down right chilly in comparison." - TehBen Book Club

"With a captivating storyline, fabulous characters that I look forward to seeing again, a war between species and some surprises along the way, this was an absolutely perfect story to start off this series! An excellent debut book that I highly recommend! Rebecca Hefner is an auto-buy for me and I give her her due, I now read Paranormal/Fantasy Romance and I'm in love with a Vampyre King!" - Rose Is Reading Book Blog

"The chemistry was amazing but what was even better was the whole world set up--it was so well thought out and the way everyone played a role in the other's lives. It was truly a remarkable read." - Nadine's Obsessed With Books Blog

"Miranda is an absolute force of nature: witty, adamant and true to herself. This is not your ordinary damsel, she's a flesh and bone warrior princess on a journey which will bend her beliefs more than once. To my utter delight, The End Of Hatred is also sprinkled with pop references and humorous scenes too." - Esther Rabbit, Author, Lost in Amber

      Amazing Start to the series
Where do I even start! This book sucked me into the world of Vampyres, Slayers, and Deamons and I kid you not when I say I couldn't put this book down. I grabbed this book when it was on sale on Amazon and I had it on my kindle for a few months before I finally got to it but once I did I devoured it, if I didn't start it so late in the day I would have finished it in one day, but sleep unfortunately did win out. Miranda is the perfect Princess for her people, she has their best interest in her heart and she will do anything to make their survival her top priority. She proves this when Arderin, the Vampyre Princess washes up on her riverbank. Miranda goes to Sathan, King of the Vampyres, and proposes a deal...one he cannot refuse. But what neither of them expected was that on this journey they were about to embark on they would fall for one another. The chemistry was amazing but what was even better was the whole world set up, it was so well thought out and the way everyone played a role in the others lives. It was truly a remarkable read. I have all the books in the series on my TBR list and the next book is on my kindle waiting for the right moment for me to get lost in their world again. I highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys paranormal romance or any kind. Happy Reading!!!

This work has very strong writing with rich descriptions and world building. I enjoyed Sathan & Miranda's story quite a bit, this was an action heavy and fun adventure.

Spicy scenes played out very nicely and were rather hot. In my opinion, these were well written and satisfying to the story indeed.

The pacing of the story was variant, but I was able to follow well. Personally I don't like the "this creature type is pure evil" trope, which was one of the few things I disliked. This, however, wouldn't take away from most readers by any means.

The action scenes were engaging, and the content matter extremely dark. As a reader of darker themes, it was very fitting and to the point. Reality wasn't held back or sugar coated. In the same vein, there was much positivity to be had and many eye opening twists.

All in all, I highly recommend this story for its rich world building and strong character development. There were still flaws in the characters in the end, but that's what makes it more realistic.

        Excellent work.

This is the first full book in this series and I can't wait to read them all. I was hooked after reading the prequel book. It grabbed my interest from the start and I couldn't put it down. There is a lot going on while Miranda and Sathan strive to bring peace back to their two species. There are a lot of surprises that will keep you reading this wonderful, fast paced book. Ms Hefner's books will not disappoint you.

Taking Buffy the Vampire Slayer ideas to a new level, Hefner takes the reader into a realm where the Vampyre and Slayers have been at work for a millennium. Along comes a Vampyre King Satham and the Slayer Princess Miranda who both are tired of war. They try to come together and in the process fight her father and the Daemons.

Hefner's writing style is good and she incorporates modern touches with ancient ones. Except for one reference to Buffy, the reader wouldn't know this story stems from that mythology. There are definite arcs in the story which will likely carry over into other books. The characters are interesting. The plot was good if a bit predictable.

Absolutely loved the book. I'm not a major fantasy reader but I loved it, it's a great nicely rounded story. The author does a slow build which I kind of like, and then suddenly it goes boom. There is plenty of love, romance and undercurrents of will they won't they, which I always like to see. Of course the heroine Miranda is everything she should be, feisty, but vulnerable deep down. Sathan, her counterpoint, I liked very much too. Plus there is a great cast of other characters. There were a few surprises and unexpected twists. I got pretty intense towards the end and I was very happy with the ending, and who ended up with who, which as a reader is super important to me. I liked the fact it wasn't just about the action but was as much about the characters and their thoughts, feelings and fears. There is also a fair smattering of pretty hot sex, which is great. So, in summary, the book delivers in all aspects. Particularly if fantasy is your thing, you'll love it for sure. Absolutely recommend it as an excellent read.

I liked this enemies to lovers book. Sometimes a little repetitive and I was eye rolling to myself with some "feministic" bits, but all in all interesting and good plot. I liked the characters and the humor of theirs. Some spice, would have liked more because the writer made perfect job with creating the tension 👌🏻🔥
A little confusing sometimes since the point of view changes between many characters without a warning or heading, but I got used to it pretty fast.
I will read the second book and see if I will get hooked to this series 😌

This is a new to me author and narrator and I absolutely loved this book. I have been on a paranormal kick lately, and was intrigued by this series and decided to give it a chance. I am glad I did because it isn't your typical vampire/slayer book. I love the intrigue and twists that make this so fascinating and look forward to continuing the series.

Initially I was unsure about this story. It opens with the Gods explaining how they created the world, and then shifts to 1000 years later where the story begins. It's also written in the 3rd person for each character which is not a normal style for me. But this story is amazing, and about 30% in I was sucked into every aspect.
With three main realms in this story you learn the gruesome history that connects them all and why they have been fighting each other for millennia. You also see how the younger generation is tired of war and conflict and seek to end the death and destruction perpetuated by their elders. This brings a sort of civil war but also The sense that The young totals want a better world for everyone.
The two main characters share a forbidden love story, and it's captivating. They are brought together as they work towards living together peacefully and slide into their love so naturally, but reluctantly because they know their bloodlines can not create an heir together and their royal duty must take a precedence... Or can they ? I was rooting for them the whole way.
Around them there are themes of love lost, power and corruption, hate, torture, betrayal, and broken dysfunctional royal families.
This book had me craving for the next chapter but also scared to see what happened next so at times I avoided reading it.
To be honest I'd love to get stuck into the next books but I have a huge book hangover from this story some and need some down time. And that in itself means I have to give this book a huge thumbs up.

A delightful book, one that I was always pleased to get back to. It was well-balanced and satisfying. having a lot of themes that people can identify with - a feisty, kick-ass female protagonist, a dysfunctional father - daughter relationship, some really dark history and, of course, a very desirable male protagonist. A shame that he's a vampyre. Oh, and a black-hearted daemon with secrets. A great read.

I can't begin to describe how much I loved this book. It made my heart sing and gave me allllll the feels! It's such a beautiful woven tale. I couldn't put it down.

I adored the characters. All of them. From the moment I met Miranda, I loved her. Feisty, fearless, a deep love for her people, maybe a little reckless and quick to anger, but I love a character with so much to offer. And Sathan... Oh my god! He's now officially in my book boyfriend hall of fame! He's so calm and collected, couldn't think of a better match for the wild and untamable Miranda. Simply put, I love him. Their banter throughout had me in stitches.
I loved the side characters too. They all had their own unique personalities. Special mention goes to Darkrip - be still my beating heart... A tortured antihero. I adore him 😭❤️ I can't wait to read his book!

The story itself is so well done. It's been such a long time since I became this engaged with a story and each and every character in it. If you love fantasy and paranormal with a side of steamy romance, you should read this. In fact, just read it because it's amazing 😉

Really enjoyed this book. The storyline was fast paced where as the romance was more of a slow burner well at first. There's lots of different points of view so it's easy to understand everyone's perspective on things. All the characters are well thought out I can't wait to learn more about them 😬.
