Flowers For A Hero (Heroes Homeward Bound Book 1) Kindle Edition
In the Navy, men don’t come tougher than Sr. Chief Petty Officer Brogan Malloy. However, every man has his breaking point, and Brogan reaches his when a good buddy and fellow SEAL is killed. After delivering his fallen comrade’s final letter to his parents, he never expects to be swept away by a gorgeous, troubled, young woman.
She has fears.
Every season Chelsea Harrison honors the fallen with flowers, and the last thing she expects to find at her brother’s gravesite is his tormented, grieving team leader. Warm embraces and kind words are all she can offer to soothe his pain. Anything else beyond that, she won’t. She can’t. She has fears.
Touched that a woman like her would even look at a guy like him with his rough past, Brogan is determined to standby her and break through her defenses…for she’s stolen his heart and he doesn't want to lose her.
But will their love be enough to heal their wounds...together?

- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2019I really enjoyed this book. First time reading Tara L. Ames and I would read her again. Her characters had great back stories that gave meat to this story line - Brogan was the alpha male with the heart of gold and a sexy body to go with it. Chelsea was the gorgeous yet vulnerable mate for Brogan. Both proved worthy of each other’s love. One of the significant romantic touches was the story behind the flowers - that, and the “letters” gave me a tear (or two and more) - lovely story - well worth reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2020Strong women who have loved, will relate to the path Chelsea follows to fulfill her dream of lifelong happiness and commitment. Brogan's mix of incredible masculinity and understanding of human nature, hard earned from his own life experiences, makes for the perfect match for Chelsea; educated, strong and self assured however in the midst of overcoming her own personal trauma. Loving a service member requires a lot of faith and inner strength. Chelsea and Brogan's story is as sweet, true, and as passionate as they come.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2019I loved this cover. It was brooding and beautiful, intimidating and timid, strength and softness! This story is tragic in more than one way. So much to overcome for Chelsea and Brogan. My heart ached for both of them, but it was exciting to see them both work to make the changes that made them better people for each other. Some may read the story line and feel like they moved along a little to fast, but I found it all totally believable!
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2020This is a new author for me and I really enjoyed this book. I could feel the connection between Brogan and Chelsea. I loved how they helped each other through their struggles and I think that only made them stronger together. I recommend you read this amazing story but fair warning bring tissue with you.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2019This story has a good premise but it needs serious editing. The hero and heroine are both struggling with serious issues and at times it wasn't believable. Whole blocks of time weren't accounted for, when the reader has no clue what went on. Some of the dialogue between the characters wasn't what you'd expect from adults, especially since the heroine is educated and the hero a Navy SEAL. I think if the author would have this edited the book would be a winner, which is why I have it 3 stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2019I found this to be a very emotional and moving story of 2 people with horrific emotional baggage in their past that together through each other were able to overcome to be together. I look forward to more from Tara Ames and I highly recommend this book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2019A moving and emotional story. recall of sexual assault
Traumatic experiences have shaped them and their out look on life.
Can they get their happily ever after or will fear and the military keep them apart?
