Temptation on Ocean Drive (The Sunshine Sisters Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 5,150 ratings

A heart-stirring novel of unrequited love and second chances by New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Probst.

Young widow Bella Sunshine-Caldwell is focused only on raising her daughter and running the family business, Sunshine Bridal. There’s no time for romance—especially with her fellow wedding planner, Gabe, whom she’s growing increasingly attracted to. He’s too enterprising to stay in Cape May for long, anyway. And too tall, dark, and handsome to be anything but a heartbreaker.

Every woman in town has her sights on Gabe Garcia. The only woman he has eyes for doesn’t seem interested. All he wants is to fall in love, be a father, and settle down. As he and Bella work together on a magical winter wedding, the distance between them closes, the nights grow warmer, and Bella might be seeing Gabe for who he really is: a man worth the effort.

But all it takes is a single rumor for these two hearts’ fragile love story to shatter. And now the happy ending Bella and Gabe hoped for is something they’re going to have to fight for.

A Beach Read For Year-Round Joy
FOUR 1/2 STARS: Story arc and the author's skill as a writer. EXTRA 1/2 STAR: Socially Responsible Twists I don't know about you, but this year (2020) has been a year of unforgettable events--many of which I wish I COULD forget. Reading this book, however, was a heart-lifting and fun experience. I may not be able to get out and enjoy the world right now, but I can certainly get lost in the pages of a good book and bring new worlds to me. The story of Bella and Gabe is the second in Probst's Sunshine Sisters series and is as good, maybe better than, the first book. Don't get me wrong, I really dug Love on Beach Avenue, but I fell for Gabe, and Bella, and Zoe in Temptation on Ocean Drive--hard. Perhaps it's because Bella, although sweet and kind to everyone, is one of the prickliest characters I've ever read about when it comes to protecting her heart. I can't blame her, she has good reason to put up multiple, thorny hedges. (No I'm not going to spoil it for you.) Watching her progress from existing to struggling to feel things she hasn't let herself feel for years, to her a-ha moment was engaging. There's a balance of fun, mistakes, apologies, and temper here and there that is like sea salt and caramel chocolates--the right blend of each ingredient to get me hooked. Now Gabe, on the other hand, was a nice surprise. In a world where every love story has been told in a thousand different ways, let me tell you why Gabe is refreshing and new. His story reflects the nuances in our society that objectify men. Better yet, it addresses the fact that the gentle man CAN exist and still be sexy. He's hot as hell, but he has a kind and gentle heart that he doesn't bother to hide. The problem with that is that no-one believes he can be drop-dead gorgeous without leveraging his looks to get hordes of women in his bed and boost himself into a successful career. Brava Probst for probing at this societal trope and exposing it for what it is-- not cool at all. Then there's five-year-old Zoe who brings the light-hearted joy and honesty of children to the lives of everyone in her life. If you want to read a refreshing love story about a single mom who risks everything to open her heart one more time. A single man who has never received genuine love and the support of someone who believes in him no matter what, and how they dance around each other until there is no denying that their lives are about to change big time. You should definitely read this book.

I absolutely loved Temptation on Ocean Drive by Jennifer Probst, it is an incredible love story, and is the second book in her Sunshine Sisters series. I have so enjoyed reading the books in the series and am looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I have read other books by Jennifer Probst and really enjoyed the wonderfully written stories. Jennifer Probst has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put it down and loved every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Temptation on Ocean Drive is wonderful love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Temptation on Ocean Drive is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Temptation on Ocean Drive is the story of Gabe Garcia, bridal consultant for Sunshine Bridal and Bella Sunshine-Caldwell, co-owner of Sunshine Bridal with her sisters Avery and Taylor and a single mother to Zoe. Gabe has always made known his feelings for Bella, but she says that she is not interested, because she needs to focus on Zoe and that she is older than Gabe. She is really concerned that Gabe’s stay at Sunshine Bridal is only temporary, until the next best thing comes along. She cannot put herself or Zoe through that. Not to mention the fact Gabe has been the Bachelor of the Cape for the last two years, a title that he loathes and the rumors of his escapades with women. As Bella and Gabe work together on a couple of weddings things between them change, and Bella begins to come to grips with the death of her husband, Matt by a drunk driver several years ago. As they spend more time together, they share secrets that they haven’t shared with anyone before, and realize they may have something more. I love that both Gabe and Bella were both so vulnerable and that each of them changed because of their love for one another. Then a surprise plot twist changes everything that they had built with one another. In order to get Gabe back, Bella realizes that she has to do something big to win Gabe back and I loved her grand gesture! I love Gabe’s relationship with Zoe and all that he does for her. I loved that Temptation on Ocean Drive is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Bella and Gabe are facing that need to be resolved, Gabe’s issues with his father and Bella’s fears of history repeating itself. I love all the descriptions of the setting that Jennifer Probst details, it makes me want to visit. My favorite part of the book is the epilogue, I truly love how it goes above and beyond the happily ever after. Temptation on Ocean Drive is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Jennifer Probst's stories. I love the cast of characters in Temptation on Ocean Drive and loved catching up with Avery and Carter. Who doesn’t love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Temptation on Ocean Drive, who doesn’t love a beautifully written love story that was so worthy of Bella and Gabe. Cannot wait to read Taylor’s story.

Another successful read hit the charts. I love visiting all members of the family.
I really got tired of Bella in truth , her constant doubts in Gabe. But also living in a small town made it worse for their relationship. I’m not sure how they will be a success. Nothing will change even after Bella big tell all to the town. Her confidence is her downfall. The town will always wag tongues at every turn. They are not a strong couple. This is the first time as a woman I truly feel she’s the weakest link of all her sisters. This marriage will not make it. I would not take a chance on her if I was in Gabe’s shoes. It will always be something else before Bella shuts down. This romance had me really frustrated about her especially and a relationship she doesn’t deserve. They would have a better chance in NYC.Maybe! Author Probst did us bad in this storyline. But I do suggest for the readers to see how a woman can sometimes have the wrong personality for a great man. Hence the 4 stars

This is the second installment in the Sunshine Sisters trilogy. I loved this book as much as the first. In this novel, town gossip and assumptions make for a rocky start for this relationship.

Bella is a widowed mother of a 5 year old girl. For several years she has buried herself in her work and raising her daughter. She feels that she can't date because she doesn't want to be left and endure pain/heartache again. Her shield is protecting her daughter, who has no recollection of her father.

Gabe is Bella 's co-worker. He is younger, and has had a crush on the middle Sunshine sister since the day he met her. As a male wedding planner, Gabe gets a lot of attention from the ladies. He has been voted Hottest Beach Bachelor of the Year. The object of many fantasies, Gabe is rumored to have many notches on his bed post.

The intimidation level is high. How can I date the hottest guy in town? How can I convince the woman of my dreams that I am a man of character/integrity? How can we convince a small town to shut up and mind their own business? Enjoy this romance. There are more mental barriers than physical. But with each hurdle Bella and Gabe realize they have a good thing if you don't over think the situation. Highly recommend this book. Thank you Jennifer Probst.

Another brilliant read from Jennifer. Bella and Gabe's story it’s so sweet gabe is such a wonderful man whom has gone through a lot in his life but has overcome more, but when she finally realises who Gabe really is she’s still conflicted and still not really sure where he’s coming from or whether he’s here to stay, my opinion she listen to too many gossips but when their together it’s magical or is it an illusion need to read to find out. Love Zoe she is such an adorable child also love hearing more about Avery and Carter and can’t wait to read Taylor and Pierce story
