This review is for RJ Loom's Axle Falls (I'll be adding as I read the others):

What did I just read? Seriously, WHAT did I just read? It's two in the morning and here I am, fighting a headache because freaking RJ Loom broke me with that story and I ended up crying like a baby.

The premise of the short story is not particularly new but its execution was masterful. Her writing was wow, the descriptions so vivid and real I could clearly see every change of the seasons. And the characters... I loved Riley. And I loved Isaac too but because I saw him through Riley's eyes.

There was so much emotion in this story. There is one particular scene (I'll try not to spoil anything) where Isaac says "I can't"... I had to stop, put down my Kindle and take a deep breath because the letters were blurry and I couldn't read through the tears. It just really hit me and made my heart clench.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this story but I'm amazed at how much I felt in such little time.

Axle Falls may be short in pages but it is rich in everything else.

An anthology of the creepiest, scariest short stories I've read in a long time. Love, terror, horror, sex. What else could you want from a genius work of tales. Great authors, phenomenal imaginations. Need to read!!! 5 Stars

This is a cute Halloween read with stories from several authors. I'm obsessed with Lady J and her Forever Marked series. Once again, she did not disappoint. And I can't wait to get my hands on Sam Destiny's Call Me Michigan!

    Darkest Brew by Lisa Messier
Ive read other stories this author has written, I have to say that this one is totally different to what she normally writes and certainly not what I expected but I'm more than happy to say that I loved it.
I liked the scenario and Tobias's character and I loved the way it comes full circle !
I will certainly be watching with interest to see if Ms Messier is going to maybe write something in a similar vein again ?

This review is for Lisa Messier’s Darkest Brew:

OH SO VAMPTASTIC!! What an utterly dark & FANGTASTIC story! I love that this story runs along the darker vein of things - the darker or worst vampire traits. Traits like compelling humans, kidnapping them and using them for his own purposes. Lisa has written a truly FANGERRIFIC short story that hooked me right from the very start. I loved the storyline, the story concept, the characters, just EVERYTHING!! Excepting the fact that it is a short story, of course! I do love me my vampires & their stories! Even if Tobias is an jerk! I didn't even mind that this story had a very different ending than I expected. But that's what makes it stand out. It also perfectly shows off Lisa's tremendous talent and her skill & fearlessness to make this story all her own!! I want to say so much more and say why it is so original & awesome, but I refuse to give spoilers! I do not want to ruin any part of it for you! All you need to know is that it is a VAMP-TACULAR story that you need to read!! I am ashamed to admit this, but this is my first time reading anything by Lisa. (shhh! don't tell her!) However, this had me so enthralled that I cannot wait to read ALL of her other books! I hope that Lisa has plans to do more either in this world, or in a series that is based upon this story!!!

    *copied from my goodreads review

So far just read Beauty Beneath the Mask which was a prequel of sorts for Adele and Gavin and it was amazing! And way too short! I loved their chemistry and you could feel their history together which just made you root for them more. And the beginning bullying of Adele made me so sad for her! But I love a good makeover story and the fact that Gavin always had a thing for her anyway just made it sweeter.

The cool thing about this story though is that it's just beginning and will pick up in the "Marked" series. So I recommend reading book 1 after this because you definitely see them again and I'm hoping book 2 will only deliver more of their hotness! Can't wait!
