The Simple Life (Hometown Love Series #1) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 2,034 ratings

"Tara Sivec delivers another amazing book with The Simple Life! This is romcom at its finest!" - FMR Book Grind

Brooklyn Manning thought her life was perfect in every way, until it crumbled down around her and turned into a dumpster fire. With her pride wounded and her tail tucked between her legs, she leaves New York and goes back to her tiny hometown of White Timber, Montana.

No more twenty-four-hour taco trucks, no more shopping at the best designer stores within walking distance, no more giving taxi drivers the finger when they angrily honk at her. She didn’t think it could get any worse. But then Clint Hastings walked into the room and insulted her.

Her arch nemesis from high school is no longer a nerdy computer whiz, masturbating to pictures in PC World magazine in his free time (allegedly). He’s grown up to be a hot-as-hell cowboy, and she has no other choice but to be a smart ass right back to him. After all, it’s what they do. It’s what they’ve always done, and twelve years apart hasn’t changed anything.

Only this time, getting under each other’s skin is a hell of a lot more fun than it used to be.

*A standalone romantic comedy with a lot of heart*

Fun Romantic Comedy and a must read!
The Simple Life is absolute perfection! I loved everything about this book. The smart mouthed, sassy Brooklyn Manning who is down on her luck after being punched in the face by her boyfriends wife (don't worry, she didn't know he was married!). Clint, the nerd-boy turned hot cowboy who not only runs one of the best pumpkin farms in Montana but raises his two little girls on his own. And each and every one of the secondary characters- Ember, Brooklyn's dad, and the girls- Grace and Mia. This book has Tara's trademark humor, and interesting and fun plot, and the perfect love story! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lighthearted and hilarious read this season.Brooklyn Manning swore she would never return to her hometown White Timber, Montana. But a series of events makes it hard to stay in New York so she tucks in her tail and heads home. Living with her father isn't what she expected at this point in her life, but it's better then living with nothing. Unfortunately, her father has lined up a job for her even though she doesn't plan to stay for to long. And this job comes with two bratty kids and the father who was once her sworn enemy. Can she survive the simple life? Or will she pack her bags and face the tabloids? If you want to know you will have to take the journey with Clint and Brooklyn as they navigate their daring new friendship and the possibility of love.Readers will enjoy this book if they are fans of:- Tara Sivec (her books are perfect in general, read them all!)- Enemies to Lovers romances- Single Dad Romances- Small Town Romances- Romantic Comedies

Pure perfection! Tara has done it yet again, and it’s so incredibly beautiful. I feel like I start out every review the same, when I read books by Tara, but I honestly can’t help it, and I feel like it needs to be shouted from the roof tops!! I literally could not put this book down.

Brooklyn has the perfect life. No, literally her life is amazing. She escaped the small town she grew up in and is living her best life in New York. Well, at least it was that way, until everything came crashing down. Now, she is at rock bottom, so it’s time to regroup and head back to her small-town life in Montana.

Although she left everything she loves behind in New York, it’s time for Brooklyn to start piecing her life back together. I mean, there isn’t much left that could possibly bring her down, right? WRONG! Clint Hastings has a way of making things so much worse, but he is no longer the same nerdy boy she left behind. No, he is all man now, and Brooklyn can’t help but to take notice.

For years, Brooklyn and Clint have picked, insulted, and tried to make each other’s life a living hell, and now, things are still the same, yet so much different. The longer she stays the more her feelings grow, and the more she realizes how much she actually missed White Timber. One phone call changes everything, and now, Brooklyn is left questioning just how much of the simple life she really wants.

This book is AMAZING! I couldn’t put it down, and I read it in one sitting. There is so much funny batter between several of the characters, and I absolutely adored the chemistry between Brooklyn and Clint. It’s sweet, funny, and sexy all rolled into one perfect love story.

The Simple read is the perfect book if you are looking for a sweet and funny read.

Brooklyn Manning is living the dream life in New York. That is until a scandal lands her on her ass with a photo of her on the ground showing off her underwear. Now she’s headed back to her hometown to live with her dad until the scandal blows over. In the meantime her dad gets her a job that puts her back in the cross hairs of her high school arch nemesis, Clint Hastings. They tortured each other their whole lives and twelve years later nothing has changed. Well nothing except that Clint Hastings is no longer the nerd she once knew, now he’s a sexy ass cowboy and single dad of two nightmare little girls.

It’s as if no time had passed between Brooklyn and Clint. They immediately get right in the groove of their hilarious and flirty banter and I loved every second of it.

At first I thought I wasn’t going to like Brooklyn. She seemed a little stuck up but it wasn’t long before I saw there was more to her than the fancy lifestyle she desperately wanted. There was deep pain in her from her childhood and the longer she stayed in White Timber the more she grew as a person and the more she opened up to those around her.

I seriously couldn’t put this one down. It such a cute and hilarious read that I ended up staying up until 2am to finish this one. I can’t wait to read more books by this author.

    Loved Every Page

Brooklyn left her small Montana home right after high school and never looked back. Her childhood nemesis Clint also left for greener pastures but the computer nerd was always a country boy at heart and came back home to raise his two girls and take over the family farm. These two had the playful insults to each other down pat. They were hilarious with each other and deep down while both were crushing neither did anything about it.

Brooklyn is back after her uptown New York like blew up in her face. She’s kind of all upside down not knowing where to go next. But, Clint’s hilarious girls Mia and Grace give her some purpose and Brooklyn starts to give Clint purpose as well.

“And then Brooklyn walked back into my life, and it felt like I’d just woken up from a coma. Everything was louder, more colorful, brighter, newer, and more exciting.”

Clint knows he’s on a time clock and he just needs to give Brooklyn a reason to stay.

“ I want her to remember everything about White Timber that makes it the best place to live. I want her to enjoy the quiet, slow pace of living in a small town. I want her to fall in love with the idea of putting roots down here. I want her to fall in love with the idea of falling in love with me.”

This was classic Tara Sivec. It was fun, hilarious, sexy, and oh so beautiful!

I almost didn’t purchase this one even though I love Tara’s humour but I have read so many stories where the heroine returns to her home town after vowing never to do so. Am I ever glad I read this one anyway because it is simply amazing. I should have known Tara would take her own spin on it and make me love it. Those girls, they cracked me up so many times. Just an outstanding read. Can’t wait for the next one.
