About the author

Karim Soliman earned his first writing commission through his contribution to the first and last issue of his school magazine. Twenty years later, he earned his next commission from Sony Pictures.
While he holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a master’s in business administration, Karim finds his groove in building worlds and messing with his characters. His debut “The Warrior’s Path” was a #1 bestseller on several fantasy subgenres on Amazon, and his book "Army of the Cursed" was an SPFBO semi-finalist.
When Karim is away from writing, he struggles with his insomnia and continues his search for his next favorite dessert.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 17, 2017I read this book and absolutely fell in love with Masolon and his adventures in Gorania. Karim Soliman does an excellent job of creating a fantastical world worthy of any true fantasy book lover. If ever you need to escape your everyday life, I strongly recommend picking up a copy of Warrior's Path. Without trying, you'll be transported to Gorania and befriending Masolon. If you like books like The Hobbit or The Blue Sword, you'll definitely LOVE Warrior's Path.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2017In general, I enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to reading the next book when it comes out.
I liked the characters and the essence of the story. The book was fast paced for the most part, and the author has a skill for writing combat scenes that I look forward to seeing developed as the author continues to write. I really enjoyed all the battles and swordplay within the book and thought it added to the interest in reading.
While I enjoyed the book and would recommend it, The Warrior’s Path was not without fault. In my opinion the book was underdeveloped in about every aspect: world, plot, and characters.
The world was interesting but there was never really any development of how the world was tied together. The world was described well in way of geography but there was no depth. There were no legends or stories for why the people of the land thought the way they thought (such as, why people thought there were ghosts in the Great Desert.) Besides geography, there didn’t really seem to be any kind of world development.
The story itself was enjoyable, but the plot seemed nonexistent. Once I thought I had “found” the central plot the author would veer away from it. Not simply in the sense of a change of character view to a different story line but all together the plot line would disappear. There was just a hodgepodge of stories thrown together with a lot of holes. However, the hodgepodge of stories were not bad, simply unfinished. I was continually waiting for the plot to come to its climax, but instead, I found myself at the end of the book and no definitive answer as to what the plot was.
The characters, while simple, were enjoyable for the most part. The biggest thing with the characters was having to read the female characters. They were very...cookie cutter kind of characters and this made them EXTREMELY annoying. Masolon’s character was not very developed. In the beginning there were a few flash backs and they seemed to promise answers about the character. However, instead of parceling out what was developed of the character, the author revealed everything at once. This happened with all the characters. A character was introduced and then everything you needed to know about that character was summed up and nothing was ever added to it. There was nothing to really discover about the characters.
Another aspect about the book (whether you want to categorize it as character or plot fault) was the love story that appear throughout. It felt like an add on as if the author thought every good book should have a love aspect to it. The love story just made Masolon appear stupid, fickle, and insincere.
While (for me) there was a lot to be wanted for the The Warrior’s Path, I still enjoyed it. The author has good characters and stories, and I hope he continues the series. I look forward to reading the next book the author writes and seeing how the author continues to develop his writing.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2017** spoiler alert ** If your looking for a low fantasy with a true middle eastern Feel to it (Real Arabic Names), than you have found your book. when I started to read this book at first I thought "ohh, I wanted some back story about the MC first, but after a while I noticed that you don't really need it at the begging, and you kind of get the back story at different parts of the book.
I also loved the fact that the story had more then one plot. It might have been a little fast, but if the plot was slowed down it would require more then one book just to get to where it ended in this book.
There was some plots that were kind of easy to guess, like when you noticed that the MC's love interest had to be saved by the MC, and then something Bad had to happen to her at the end.
There was other plots that totally got me by surprise, for example how the MC got to kill his Mentor and the Rich boy villein in the first book.. I honestly thought Because both the Mentor (who is kind of Evil in his own way) and the Rich boy villein would only be killed later on in the next few books as they seemed vital to the characters character development.
Now there was some parts where I was hoping things where different. for example I wanted the MC's Love Interest to have been violated before she was saved ( I am not saying it had be described, just started), this would build some interesting character build up for the MC.
When the MC was running away with the his love interest at the end, I was hoping they could get a way and he would teach her to fight and be a Warrior couple like in Peter V. Brett's (Demon Cycle).
At this moment the MC is too much of a Hero, and I am hoping that in the next book he becomes more of an antihero. like for example he realizes that his father was right and started to follow more of the ideas of the demon within him.
so, just to finish, I loved the book and I am hoping Karim (the Writer) will not make me wait 5+ years before I see the next book (yes just like George R.R. Martin)

5.0 out of 5 stars Erm! I think I quite liked this
This has a lot going on and would probably be two books in the hands of those 9 to 5 type writers. But this seems like it was written by someone who was bursting with ideas for a story and really went for it. The dialogue was a bit questionable at times. ( in the heat of battle it's hard to believe someone saying "come on fellows"). It was a sort of a mix of tales from Arabian nights meets medieval knights. There's the warrior ( a fighter not a lover) who falls for two princesses which doesn't end well for him. He has conversations in his own head which may actually be demonic possession. The next book may well be worth a read as it looks like all the trying to do good just got him screwed over and he may listen to his demon.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining read
A nice, easy read with decent pace, decent characters and a good storyline. It wasn't as dark as expected, being labled as "A Dark Heroic Fantasy", but still pretty good nonetheless.

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so read.
A so-so read. Not the worst but certainly not the best either. I found the book.To be a bit of a drag in places and found my attention wandering.
