INEVITABLE I - A Tanner Novel - Book 1
Hiring Tanner is the same as killing someone.
Once the assassin has a target he won’t stop until they’re dead. Frank Richards thought Tanner was a robot he could turn on and off at will. But Tanner has no off switch and lives by his own code.
When Richards changes his mind about having mobster Albert Rossetti hit, he orders Tanner to let Rossetti live.
Too late!
Rossetti is Tanner’s target, and nothing and no one will keep him from fulfilling his contract, not the FBI, not prison, nor the endless line of killers sent to stop him. Tanner is coming, Tanner is deadly, and Tanner never fails.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2015Didn't quite know what to expect with this one but wasn't disappointed at all. Spoiler Alert.
This one stars with a man named Tanner in a motel room with a hooker he hired. Tanner is a killer. He's a hit man who never misses. Once hired he will kill whoever those who hired him want dead. Nothing will stop him from making the hit.
Tanner kills those who came for him. He makes his escape. He know Rossetti is behind the men who came for him. Rossetti is the man he's been hired to kill and kill him he will.
Tanner has been in prison in Mexico after being betrayed by a man who he's used before as a contact with potential clients. Tanner will take care of him as well.
FBI Special Agent Sara Blake is in pursuit of Tanner. A Tanner she wants to kill because he killed the man she loved. Blake isn't interested in taking him alive. She wants him dead and will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
Tanner in another cheap motel meets up with two kids. Billy and Cindy. These two will accompany him. Of course he's using them for cover but they have problems of their own. Namely the man Cindy's father works for has a son who wants to marry Cindy. Cindy isn't interested in that spoiled rich brat. She has Billy.
So begins a pretty darned good read.
This one has Tanner, Cindy, Billy, Sara, her partner Garner, Rossetti and his men, O'Grady, Petterson, Richards, the Conglomerate, a Tanner who will get his man by whatever means, a Tanner who pits Rossetti against O'Grady, two brother Earl and Merle who capture Tanner, a Cindy and Billy who get him free, the man who betrayed Tanner, that mans wife, a showdown at his home, the mansion Rossetti lives in, a tunnel, a Blake who shoots her own partner in her quest for Tanners death, a Blake who's a trust fund baby and doesn't have to work, a Blake who's censured for shooting her partner, a Blake who quits the FBI to use her money to pursue Tanner fulltime and Tanner doing what he does best killing his mark and surviving for the next kill.
Five Stars. Good read.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2015Tanner is a hit man. When he takes a contract, you are dead. Tanner is the anti hero that you find yourself rooting for. He has been given a contract to hit Rosetti, a well connected mobster in Vegas by a shadowy group of business men and criminals who have combined to form the Conglomerate. Tanner is a hitman whose reputation is flawless. Rosetti and the Conglomerate make nice and want to forget the hit, but Tanner does not play that. His middleman for the contracts sets him up and he is imprisoned in Mexico. Rosetti had taken his wife hostage to convince him to cooperate. He knows that if Tanner escapes he will be dead.
Tanner escapes and starts a long chase where one man and a cast of characters takes on two criminals and settles scores.
What I like: Tanner is true to his own moral code. If he tells you he will do something, you can take his word. The good guys are not so pure in this so it makes Tanner easier to cheer forward on his trail of death and mayhem.
I am a big fan of this author's work under another name in the Taken series. The serial killer character in that series has more nuances than Tanner, but if you like Noir Tanner is an action ride.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2017Frank Richards (Harvard, Conglomerate corporate member) hired Tanner to whack Albert.
It seems Albert was taken a bigger % of the pie.
NYC. FBI SAC Martin “Marty” Brewer (52, Sara’s boss), told FBI SA Sara Blake he had an assignment for her.
FBI SAC Jake Garner would meet her at the JFK Airport.
Albert “Al” Rossetti (Conglomerate corporate member, Johnny’s uncle) a Las Vegas mobster also has a hit out on Tanner.
Las Cruces, NM. Had saved the lovers William “Billy” Benton (20) & Cindy Preston (19, daughter).
The 2 were now along for the ride.
What did Tanner do to Benny (mobster)?
What happened to Aldo (40, mobster)?
Earl Carter (mobster), & Merle Carter (mobster, driver) are taking Tanner to meet Ramone (mobster), at a house on Stewart Ave. in Las Vegas.
Albert was also there when the 3 of them arrived.
Who will survive?
Warning: This book is for adults only & contains extreme violent or graphic adult content or profanity &/or sexually explicit scenarios. It may be offensive to some readers.
I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written adventure book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great adventure movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2017This book had plenty of action but was fairly light on character development (which isn't necessarily a bad thing for this type of book). The main character, Tanner, is relentless and manages to manipulate events to his advantage, but there's still the wild card of the driven FBI agent, Sara, who's even more driven.
Tanner most definitely is NOT a good guy, but he seems to have a code that he follows that does allow for some flexibility. Overall, entertaining, but I think I'll read a couple of other books before coming back for the next installment.

A good thriller that as Tanner the latest in a line of assassination experts betrayed by a former friend acting under duress resulting in his arrest for drug possession and imprisonment. On escape Tanner resolves to finish his previous task and on route receives help from an accidental meeting of two young lovers. The chaos that follows his quest is tracked by an FBI agent who also wants him dead for killing her lover on an earlier contract and events have many twists and turns. A good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good start after Young Guns.
If you've read the 'Young Guns' series, you'll understand the Cory's back story and appreciate the starting point more. A good read nevertheless.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome story
This book held me spell bound from the start. A lot of violence and while the bad guys died, so did a few innocent people. Very well written.
