Whenever, wherever I get the notice informing me of the arrival of a new Kane Remington book I Drop Everything because it's time for me to indulge! I've read a great lot of books in my 66 years but I can't tell you what it is about Tanner, etc. that makes me go nuts - other than that for a brief moment when it's just me & Kane I'm completely full up with delight!! Galloping action, drama, humor and surprise - Remington Kane delivers it all Every Single Time.

Tanner and Soulless become rivals in a quest on an assassination to kill the general in Africa. This looks almost impossible for the hit to happen. Tanner makes a decision to go one way to get to the general while Soulless attempts another way question is who will get there first. Good luck, but you have to really pay attention and follow it closely. There’s a lot of detail.

What happens when the two top assassins are contracted to kill the same target? Tanner works his way into his target's elite guard force and after finding favor with the Guard Commander, he and his new friend, Palmer, are to meet the General for a ceremony honoring the two of them for saving his life. Instead, Tanner shoots the General with Victor's gun after killing Victor then the General and verified his kill with his phone. Unknown to Tanner, his opponent (#2 assassin) is blowing up the whole property and the underground mines assuming he's going to get credit for the kill. When the final bomb destroys the lake dam, everything that was is totally destroyed and flooded. But one of the six bombs was carried by the flowing water and it exploded under the train that was his ticket home. Tanner is headed home unaware that his opponent lived and was rescued by those trying to salvage the train that derailed and his opponent was rescued from a deep crevice and after killing all his rescuers, he vows to go after Tanner and place the unused gold coin to claim victory over Tanner. Great read that you can read yourself for the rest of the action.

I stumbled across a random Tanner book and liked it. I went to the first book of the series and kept reading the books. Usually I would have enough after reading a half a dozen, but the author is a good writer and I finished the series. I liked the concept, the characters, and I have to say again good writing. If you like action adventure books read this series.

The action is jaw dropping good and trouble is following Tanner as it always does. We are thrown right in the tick of it,as we find our hero right in the middle of a contract and coupe. The writer gets it right on all counts and our man finally gets to see the one who's out to take the number one spot. Can not what for the next nail bitter!

Tanner has a new contract to fulfill. Can he get the job done before another assassin who was hired for the same job? Fast paced and action packed.

Another winning Tanner novel. I've been a fan of this author for a long time and read just about everything he's written. I especially love the Tanner series. In this and recent stories, new characters have been introduced and I can't wait to see what happens with them and their relationship with Tanner in future books. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars An incredible and complex story

The complexities tested my imagination and knowledge of the real Africa, almost to the limit! These twists and turns in the various sub-stories gave an unforgettable read. But a re-read wasn't possible - so I'll settle for the next Tanner tales.

Great story with characters both likeable and others extremely horrific. Interesting twists and turns with many different plots moving towards the same goal. This book really kept the reader interested to the end. Well written.

4.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing abbreviation
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on October 19, 2020
The storyline is good, the contender unnecessarily and unrealistically brutal but survives only to provide grist for the next story? Given the shortness of the book I feel this is not value for money and any future such short stories will end my interest in the series

What it takes to be the very best. This story has you ln the edge of your seat as these two men battle it out to be the very best assassin. The ending came as a surprise so there will be another story to see the outcome of these two forces being pitted against each other.
