After all the blood, sweat and hard work a new Tanner is born. All the training, self discipline and close calls have finally paid off and Tanner is ready to make a name for himself. His new contract is with crime boss Sam Giacconi. Tanner and Joe Pullo head to Pennsylvania to find the person who killed his friend Al Bellini. When they both get caught in a trap Tanner realizes his rookie mistake and knows he is up against a more worthy opponent. A well paced plot that will keep your interest peaked through the whole book. An exceptional read.

    This is the first book between Young Guns 8 and Inevitable (Tanner 1 - not to be confused with this one, Tanner Year One). This is Tanner without Romeo or Spenser. Although he doesn't have any super powers, it sure seems as if he does.

    Hard to say much about this book without spoilers. This would be perfect to read as a stand alone because no reference to the previous series (Young Guns) is made. Well, Romeo is mentioned once or three times.

    This is truly amazing. Mr. Kane's ability to write three series with one man as a protagonist, and keep track of all the side stories, characters, and even ages, is a feat in itself.

    Hold on to your hats, folks. If this series is as good as the one before and the one which follows we are in for the one, the only, and the seventh Tanner to make us nervous in crafty ways as only Tanner can be.

    Highly recommended for fans of suspenseful, full octane thrills. No previous knowledge of Tanner required. But I bet you can't read just one.

    And off to re-read Inevitable, just because.
