- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2015This is the second book in the Lineage of Tellus series. I read and enjoyed the first so was looking forward to the second. Ashei Greyhawke has begun to settle into her new role as the ruler of Fleurdan. Her best friends, Tristan and Marianne, are involved in new relationships. Ashei receives word that Tristan’s lover, and her brother, Finn, is suffering from some strange illness. He runs away and Ashei and her friends embark on a quest to save him, or, if he has been taken over by his evil father, to kill him.
As in the first book in the series the characters are interesting and fully described. The novel takes as much time exploring the relationships between the characters as it does on the quest to save Finn. The dialogue is humorous and refreshingly modern sounding. As in the first book, I felt the characters rushed off on their quest with no real plan. It would be good to see the characters, especially Ashei since she is supposed to be ruling a country, mature and grow a bit more. Also, as in the first book, this novel is full of sexual innuendos and discussions of sexuality, including homosexuality. There is not, however, any explicit sexual content.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2015I didn't think the series could get any better but it did in the second book. The adventure is getting ready to go to war...the sex is getting sexer...more back history is being told.
I love this book can't wait for Book 3...to war...Dragon War.
A must read if you like Queens, pirates, mythical creatures of all shapes and sizes, beautiful woman and men, dragons, sex and adventure on the high seas then this is the book for you. Don't miss the series because you would be missing an adventure you will never forget. L J Hasbrouck is a strong writer with a wonderful mind and she does all her own art in the series. Go on, you have came this far, click the box and get the book...you won't be sorry.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2015This book was fantastic! I loved the plot and the character developments. It had me wishing by the end that I could leave my world behind and join the author's little gang of heroes. Every character was well thought out and the action scenes had me begging for more. A great balance of witty humor and serious story building. I would recommend it for any open-minded reader!
