    We met Max in the previous book as a member of the alumni football team and bouncer at The Chisel bar. As for Jesse, we never met him formally but his long time role as a bad boy in a TV soap opera star has many of the small town of Winchester, South Carolina over the moon when it appears that he has chosen their hamlet as a vacation and get-back-into-shape spot.

    How they meet (cute) and how Max becomes Jesse's bodyguard and how they get into a hot relationship has the same big hole that Jason Collins has in the first two books of this series. We sort of know soon that Jesse (on the cover) is gay--but if he is and he's open how has he survived the potential vicious bigotry of Hollywood, where he lives and works? And after their initial encounter we learn that Max has always been straight, but we don't know that until he sort of admits it to us in an aside or two, and hardly even mentions it to Jesse until they get really serious.

    I gave the first two books in this series four instead of five stars for this kind of omission, but this one gets five stars first because it's so well written and then because it's so sweet and cute and there really isn't any angsty stuff they have to deal with. It's a book that could be a television special because in the end everything is acceptable and everyone is happy.

    We’ve seen Marshall be quiet and someone who overall sticks to himself. Jesse is a famous actor in need of a break and a diet plan. He feels like he’s gained a few too many pounds and it’s going to cause his character problems. After Marshall gets rid of a paparazzo for Jesse, Jesse realizes he needs some security which leads to him hiring Marshall. Little did they know that their close proximity could bring on feelings.

    What I loved about this story more than the others is that Marshall doesn’t really pay any attention to the fact that he’s falling for a man. Like it just simply shouldn’t matter who he’s interested in. He’s spent his life just being with women, but he doesn’t really think it matters that he suddenly is interested in another male. The Worth the Weight series was amazing. They all were super steamy and had HEA

    Lately, I’ve been obsessed with reading Jason Collins romances. This series made me fall in love with the small town of Winchester and its couples. Mark and Carter, Mason and Tyler and Jesse and Marshall are all good Southern boys with good and loving hearts. Each romance was different yet with a universal message of loving someone for who they are inside! This series was awesome! I plan on continuing to read romances by Jason Collins!

    i had really liked Marshall from the previous book and i am so glad that we got to see so much depth in his character. Jesse was also a surprisingly delightful character and i enjoyed how he noticed everything from the birds, the food to the feelings of love. These guys are so great together.

    I've been curious about Marshall since he was introduced. Stoic, quiet and yet there seemed to be much more under the surface. This gay for you romance really let him shine. Upon meeting Jesse, things shift for Marshall. He's drawn to the genuinely sweet, kind guy that Jesse is. It was wonderful to see the whole town not only give Jesse space from his fame to be himself, but they openly welcomed the two of them as a couple.
