Nothing To Do With The Case (Pollard & Toye Investigations Book 12) Kindle Edition
You can run but you can’t hide…
Virginia Gould’s world is turned upside down when a wealthy family member leaves her his house in his will.
She suddenly finds herself a young woman of independent means – but her relation, Nigel Kerslake is furious that she inherited.
Determined to escape Nigel’s wrath, Virginia decides to make a new start in the village of Marleigh.
But it doesn’t take long for Nigel to find her. And when a local woman is found murdered Virginia feels her freedom slipping away…
Scotland Yard's Chief Superintendent Pollard and Detective Inspector Toye are put on the case.
What is Virginia hiding from them? Is she involved with the murder?
Or do her fears have nothing to do with the case…?
Nothing To Do With The Case is the twelfth cosy village mystery in the Pollard & Toye crime series: an intriguing police procedural set in rural England.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA slightly different approach for this novel in the series. I enjoyed it, rooting for the protagonist and hoping her antagonist would be served humble pie and a prison term. Only partly right!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAgain, this book #12 is as good as the prior books in this series.
All the books take the time to make sure that all characters are explained.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseFive stars to the whole series.I've read all but the last five and they just keep getting better. Anyone who loves a good mystery will enjoy these. K.COOK
- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2019Format: KindleI’m charmed by this entire series, and this particular book was interesting in the construction of the case — the answer is actually there from the beginning but I was shocked by the ending and the culprit (usually with Pollard and Toye you can see it coming before the reveal). I should mention though that if you’re generally exasperated by detectives appearing late in a book this will annoy you. The other P and T books don’t do this

5.0 out of 5 stars That the time is before mobile phones, DNA checking, ease of travel
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI like the idea of teamwork, travelling from London to wherever by train, civility of the police force to other police stations, the legwork done by the officers, the need to examine the clues & reach a correct decision. Most enjoyable books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAnother compelling episode in the excellent Pollard and Toye crime series. With a delightful young lady taking centre stage, the local police force bring the Yard into a case of murder, due to lack of manpower. Highly entertaining.
