P.A.Davies was born in Manchester, UK, a city he has lived in and around all his life. He loves Manchester and is proud to be part of the multi-cultural, modern city that houses two Premiership football teams and is the birthplace of many a famous band, such as Oasis, the Stone Roses, Take That and Simply Red.

For most of his life, he has dabbled with writing various pieces - from poems to short fictional stories - but this was always just for fun. However, following advice from a good friend he decided to have a go at writing a novel. Thus, his first novel ‘Letterbox’ was conceived, a fictional take on the infamous IRA bombing of Manchester in 1996. It took him over a year to complete but while doing so, he found it to be one of the most satisfying and interesting paths he had ever followed. It came as no surprise that the writing bug subsequently became firmly embedded within him.

P.A.Davies’ second book - George: A gentleman of the road - was published in May 2013 and is a true story about one of Manchester’s homeless. His third novel - The Good in Mister Philips - is an erotic novel (arguably set to rival Fifty Shades…!) and his fourth - Nobody Heard Me Cry (Dec. 2015) - is again a fact-based tale about Manchester’s darker side. The thriller ‘Absolution’ (Oct. 2017) is his fifth novel.

To label P.A.Davies’ writings would be difficult because his works range from thrillers to touching novels to true-to-life tales embedded in a captivating story, making P.A.Davies an imaginative and versatile storyteller.

A steamy detective novel filled with suspicion, intrigue and sex. A man leading two lives. Murders threaten to expose his secret… Forget Fifty Shades – Marcus Good is IT!

‘The Good in Mister Philips’ has it all! It is engrossing and captivating – you want to read on and not in the least because of the naughty bits! The author combines a cleverly plotted story with erotic images, painted in such a way that you feel your cheeks blushing so furiously as if they are literally burning and everyone must notice! But apart from the erotic scenes, the plot draws you in as no one is what he or she appears to be. Random occurrences all have their consequences, police investigations seem to focus on one suspect and then go in totally different directions… And then the plot twist! Wow! Did not see that coming… not saying though, you will have to read for yourself!

It is difficult to say much about the characters, what I liked about them, their flaws for fear of giving away the plot. Let’s just say that some evoke strong feelings of empathy whereas I instantly disliked others and to me, that goes to show how true to life the author created the characters in his novel. There is also a deeper layer within the book, exploring a fascinating topic but again, I cannot tell you about it, you have to read it for yourself! ‘The Good in Mister Philips’ is a fast-paced, explicit and expertly crafted erotic thriller you won’t be able to put down until you have reached the last pages! A recommended read for you – whether you read it alone or perhaps together…?!
