    Where do I start to review such an excellent and incredibly rich novel. This past present novel embraces a young woman recovering from illness who collects and sells antique costumes and theatrical memorabilia and the enigmatic Victorian Esme whose story threads throughout this story. I loved the characters, Eleanor, present day and Esme from the late Victorian era. It’s a wonderful story filled with the Tarot, music hall song, Shakespearean plays rewritten and a page turning adventure. I love novels like Fingersmith that owes much to Victorian Sensationalism and I loved this one too. It’s beautifully written and very wise sprinkled with touches of philosophy. A thrilling and thoughtful story. Highly recommended.
