I thoroughly enjoy all of Dorothy Mack’s novels. Her characters are relatable and her storylines entertaining.
However, her stories just stop the minute the conflict is resolved. They all end too abruptly, leaving you feeling vastly unsatisfied. In fact the conflict never feel fully resolved. All of her books beg for at least a modest epilogue.

From the book cover - "Regency London was abuzz at the arrival of the two Raven sisters - classically beautiful Elizabeth, an heiress who was every fortune hunter's dream, and the younger Carina, whose loveliness won admirers even as her shocking independence alarmed aristocratic society. But Elizabeth and Carina were as elusive as they were irresistible and beneath their masks of glittering gaiety each knew she had found the only man she could love - if foolish pride did not destroy all chance of happiness..."
This is Dorothy's Mack's first novel, published in 1977. It's a well paced romance of two different and nicely portrayed heroines, their love lorn or unknowing beaux and a suitably nasty villain.
Written well before the days of explicit sex scenes, the most daring physical interchange is a kiss. Many may think it is tame but I found it a lighthearted romance. If you like the old style romances, this is OK.

The characters were probably indebted to the reading we all did of Georgette Heyer’s early novels, but what worked once worked again to provide an entertaining evening for me! Was this an early novel by Dorothy Mack? I’m glad I borrowed it from Amazon’s library!

Great Storyline and even greater storytelling. As usual Ms Mack has all the characters at her disposal to create the story to tell the reader a tale he or she could embrace as truth. a great read. Enjoy.

Although The Raven Sisters breaks no new ground, it is a nice little story that winds it way through familiar plot points to a happy conclusion.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very well written, the dialogue was excellent, as was the vocabulary. There was a lot of humour, which I love, along with intrigue and suspense. And lots and lots of romance!

The characters were well defined and likeable and the emotions portrayed were relatable and realistic. Thank you for this great read.

I really enjoyed The Raven Sisters. It was such a true likeness to life in a Regency Family and Members of the Society in that time. I am certainly looking forward to reading more of the author's Regency Books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dashing and tender in all the right places, just delightful!

The white rose is the cool, lovely, Elizabeth, elder sibling, aloof to suitors but utterly devoted to her sassy urchin-like sister, the dark red rose,Carina. This unconventional and defiant pocket-sized sprite amuses and irritates Gavin, a reputedly flirtatious bachelor who rescues the Ravens from a highwayman on the road to London. At 30, quite the elegible parti but indifferent to matchmaking efforts, Gavin plays the lively counterpoint to youthfull Carina's adventures and emotions.
