I can see I might have made a few errors

I was a better man.

Looking back from this attic, I can see that I might have made a few errors along the way. Being that it’s too late now to change things, I sigh and, as my stomach growls, wish I hadn’t rushed to get up into this place where I’d be able to hear her, spy on her. Why I hadn’t thought about provisions, is anyone’s guess. I’m not myself without her. Well, the new and better me because when I was with Jordan, I was a better man.

But instead of her moving to do either, Jordan reaches for that notebook and records something inside. When she’s done, her eyes raise to mine as a slight smirk pulls at the corner of her lips.

“Are you laughing at me?”

“We’ve gone over what it means to laugh, Cal. I’m not laughing, I’m not even happy…at all.”

“I know, I’m sorry. I made a mistake and for what it’s worth, I’m less happy than you.”

“You’re never happy.”

“I was…with you.”

Jordan broke me

She broke me.

I’m experiencing new emotions, ones I never thought possible. For the first time in my life, being alone is…uncomfortable. Jordan Collins apparently broke me. Or fixed me, depending on how you look at things.

Growing up, being alone made sense. I was better company to myself than any of the other military brats were. Hell, my IQ was higher than all of theirs combined, so I didn’t expect an intelligent conversation from any of them. They were too busy running through my father’s base with their water guns or Teacher Barbies to figure out how to hack into the military’s motherboard. I wasn’t, and by the time I was ten, I knew more government secrets than POTUS. Considering he was preoccupied getting head in the Oval Office, I can’t be faulted.

Kitty Berry grew up an only child who never wished for a sibling in a small town in Connecticut. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education, she began teaching in the field and started to raise a family. Her literary influences happened later in life when she stumbled upon The Pilot’s Wife by Anita Shreve after seeing it featured on the Oprah Show. It was her late mother’s (whose name she uses as a pen name) desire of becoming a writer that prompted Kitty to create a contemporary romantic series.

Being a creative person by nature who came into writing during a time in her life when the busy balance of career and family made her crave an escape into the world of romance, Kitty took that desire and turned it into a romantic series that offers the reader multidimensional characters.

In 2013, she published her first novel from The Stone Series: Sliding. Since then she has written ten other novels in that series, among them Stoned, Second Chances, Surrender, Starting Over, and Silence. The final installment, Survivor was released in 2016. A holiday edition was released in late 2018.

Since then, Berry has released a trilogy titled, The Anatomy of Love and written a carry-over stand-alone novel, Vines of Ivy. In 2019, she released the Compatible Companions Trilogy.

Because angst-ridden, plot-driven, women’s contemporary romances mesmerize Kitty, Berry writes only in that genre. While each book in The Stone Series can stand alone with its own story, Berry’s intention was to create carry-over characters to satisfy the need of the reader to know more after each novel ends. As an avid reader herself, Kitty enjoys the feeling of being there with the characters inside the story and often finds herself wanting to know more about them, missing them when the story is over, and becoming excited all over again when she discovers those familiar characters in subsequent novels. It is her hope that The Stone Series will do the same for her readers.

Kitty is married to a man she met in graduate school and has three boys who are almost men.

Kitty recently founded RomantiConn (a romance author signing event held annually in CT) and is currently working on the Falls Village anthology hybrid with her fellow RomantiConn authors.

    This is the first book in the Falls Village Collection and what brilliant start. It brings in many of the characters from Kitty Berry’s Compatible Companions Trilogy. The story is non stop twists and turns, beautiful love scenes, and lots of humor including a dog called Beast with Callan who is a genius but not adept at social niceties or closeness and an operative and Jordan a New York psychology student who have fallen for each other. Callan goes undercover in Maine to help find out who is stalking a friend of his and breaks off with Jordan via text. Going undercover takes Callan out of his comfort zone. You can not help fall in love with the character of Callan who for all his genius and awkwardness has a beautiful heart as demonstrated in how he handles his assignment. When Callan faces Jordan and apologizes will she accept or make his life really difficult? There is so much action and so many wonderful characters in this story. This book will make you fall in love and want to read all the books coming in this series which will be written by multi RomantiConn authors. I love Kitty Berry's amazing and brilliant work and this is her best effort yet.

    I want to go to Falls Village maybe live there because this series just got me right from the beginning. I kind of knew Jordan, Callan and the rest of the gang from a prior series so it was nice to visit with them again but Callan and Jordan have a great relationship till Callan bails on her. When Callan realizes he may have lost the only person who makes him feel whole he fights tooth and nail to get her back. The book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger but it left it open for the next book which I can’t wait to read.

    I love Callan so much and was excited for this story. Him and Jordan are made for each other. Once you start their story you will not be able to put it down. It has everything you could want in storytelling with characters you will love. Make sure to pick this up because it is a great start to a must read series.

    THE REST OF FOREVER is the first book in the Falls Village collection, a collection of books from various authors of RomantiConn. Kitty Bery has written several books in the series.

    I needed a little time to get into the story. I felt a little overwhelmed by all the names and characters, but I pushed through and am glad I did.
    Callan was a unique hero, I haven't read about a man like him before. He is a socially awkward genius, but his heart is beautiful and good, and he is such a sweet, romantic, brave person.
    Jordan is a strong woman, who made Callan work for his second chance, and she was right to do so.
    Callan and Jordan's relationship is like a union, with lots of layers. Every time I discovered a new layer, I got drawn in deeper. They have so much chemistry it is hard to miss.

    I enjoyed the friends dynamic and can't wait to read the other stories.

    I like Kitty Berry's writing style. The pacing was okay, although sometimes I would have wanted it to move a little faster.

    If you like a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat with its twists and turns that will make you feel all kinds of emotions and laugh till you cry, then The Rest Of Forever is a must-read for you.

    I wasn't sure what I got into when I began reading this story, it was a "blind date" read. I will say that it is entertaining, with all of the quirky characters it kept me reading. I only wished that I had read the Compatible Companions trilogy first because reading this book is like starting in the middle of a TV series, lots of info that seems to have been laid out in the other books or stepping into a conversation that has been going on for two hours before you try to join. Because this book feels like a soap opera-many characters with blurred interactions and multiple story lines I think I would have enjoyed the book more, I felt like I was slightly behind in catching on to what was going on. Because of the colorful characters I probably will explore more of this series and the trilogy.

Will taking himself out of his comfort-zone, loads of groveling and finally understanding the real meaning of true love be enough for Jordan to accept him again? Kitty Berry has outdone herself with this beginning of a new series. The reader cannot help but fall in love with her characters, her storylines have so many twists and turns you will feel like you just got off a roller coaster and the emotions just drip off the pages. This will become you next favorite new series. Simply Awesome!!

    This is a small town second chance romance. Callan is an extremely intelligent but socially awkward MMC. He and Jordan have what he believes to be something special until Callan ruins it.

    Callan is determined to win back the only girl that has ever made him feel but there are obstacles in their way.

    This book is a part of a collection and it would be helpful to have read the other books in the collection to understand the back stories referred to in the book.
