Have You Ever Made A Mistake That Keeps Coming Back To Haunt You?

On the run from her ex-boyfriend’s powerful criminal family, Sara Jones hides in Billings, Montana. When she receives a mysterious package containing a hidden spider, people around her start dying from poisonous spider bites and she fears that the family has found her. Is it possible to escape their reach?

˃˃˃ From its gut-grabbing prologue to its explosive conclusion, Goss’s debut story gives new meaning to the phrase “a blood-curdling adventure.”

Life takes an even more bizarre turn when Sara seems to be not only immune to the spider venom, but also surrounded by a sinister group of people using spiders to incapacitate their prey. Even her new boyfriend starts acting suspiciously. Who can she trust?

To make matters worse Sara's twenty-fifth birthday approaches, and her dark heritage begins to emerge. She is forced to make a life-or-death decision. And somehow, she must find a way to deal with the crime family.

˃˃˃ An Imaginative Fantasy-Thriller That Will Stimulate Your Senses

Goss immerses the reader in a gripping tale in which spiders are trained to kill. To some, the story may seem far-fetched, and cult members eating the flesh of cadavers may seem abhorrent, but Dracula set that table long ago. Tegen Cave is sure to thrill anyone predisposed to the fantasy genre.

Nevada author Inge-Lise Goss was born in Denmark, raised in Utah and graduated from the University of Utah, magna cum laude. She and her husband live in the majesty of Red Rock Canyon and after a career as a certified public accountant. Now she drinks in the scenery and turns it into her novels.

Described by Inge-Lise as a paranormal web of romance, mystery and horror we can be sure at the outset of this series that Inge-Lise’s gift for weaving mystery thrillers that dip into fantasy/sci-fi will be another winner for her – just she displayed in CISCO BANDITS and THE COST OF CRUDE. Her manner of developing her plots and her characters is sure, polished, and yet with enough co-existing suspense to hold our attention to the last page.

Her synopsis underlines this direction: ‘After running from her boyfriend's powerful organized crime family, Sara Jones starts a new life in a new town. But when people around her start dying from poisonous spider bites after she receives a mysterious package with a spider concealed inside, she worries that the family has found her. Life takes an even more bizarre turn when she seems to be not only immune to the spider venom, but also surrounded by a sinister group of people using spiders to incapacitate their prey. Even her new boyfriend starts acting suspiciously. Just who can she trust? Then to make matters worse Sara's twenty-fifth birthday approaches, and her dark heritage begins to emerge. She is forced to make a life-or-death decision. And somehow, she must find a way to deal with the crime family.’

In a few short lines of Prologue we sense the fright ahead; ‘As they drove away from town, Candice placed her hand on his thigh and gently squeezed. He turned, his dark blue eyes glowing, and gave her a coy smile. She sensed something was wrong from his distant behavior at the restaurant. She peered out the side window as the city lights vanished behind them and thought, Does he know about me? Towering pine trees and leafy maples lined the road. Thick clouds snuffed out the moonlight. “The hotel was only a couple of blocks away,” she said. “I want to take you some
place special. Her body tingled as she leaned closer and caressed his muscular arm. “Your room was pretty special last night.” “This place you’ll never forget.” Candice could no longer spot any house lights through the dense foliage. A ping of uneasiness flew over her since she had only known her date for less than two days. Wanting to make her weapon easily accessible, she snatched her purse from the floor and lowered it onto her lap. “How far away is this place?”

For those fortunate enough to have read her other books the suspense ahead may not surprise, but for those for whom this is the first outing with Inge-Lise Goss beware. You are in for a terrifying adventure with more twists and turns than you can imagine, Highly Recommended. Grady Harp, January 16

Reading novels about fantasy, romance which are shrouded in mystery is always an exciting time for me, I always find myself wanting more and more of the story and this book wasn't different. It was pulsating right from the start, filled with fun, adventure, mystery and so on. I've read it thrice already and I'm sure I'll still read it a few more times lol, each time I read it the experience is even better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paranormal, suspense story with a lot of spiders
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 15, 2021
I received a copy of this book from the author.

Right from the prologue this story had me captured. I found myself wondering what was going on with the blue-eyed man and what spiders have got to do with it all.

This is not a spoiler alert but a spider alert. If you don’t like them and even the word sends you in a spin then this book is not for you.

That would be a great shame as you’d be missing out on an amazing book that is full of intrigue.

Sara Jones is on the run from her boyfriend and his criminal family.

This book is so well written with such good descriptions of the places and events that I could be a fly on the wall watching what is happening.

Having read the book, I now am looking forward to the next in the series. I want to find out what happens to Sara and whether she has managed to rid herself of Conner and his family.

Let me start off by saying if you are not a fan of spiders this book is not going to be your cup of tea. I truly fell into this story, it has a very unique story line and characters. Sara realizes her boyfriend, Conner, is not everything she thought he was. While traveling after leaving him she meets Brett. Brett introduces her into a whole new world, one that's packed full of spiders. I usually don't read book descriptions and am glad when I get a rare gem like this one. It will break up the monotony of your reading library. Yes it has romance, danger and paranormal beings, but boy are they unique in this book!! Great read, I will be looking forward to more books by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Intriguing Read!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 14, 2014
A friend recommended this book, so I thought I would give it a try.

Sara Jones is a wonderful character, who is on the run from her boyfriend's family. I really liked her attitude, but wanted to shake some sense into her too, as she made a few questionable decisions. However, it's her immunity to a venomous spider that has me intrigued.

This is an unusual horror/suspense that kept me hooked from the first page! The story is told from Sara's point of view and is a roller coaster ride of suspense and mystery. There is also a bit of horror in the form of spiders. Luckily, I am not squeamish about spiders. In fact, I rather admire them; they perform an important role in the food chain. If there were no spiders, we would be totally overrun by insects!
The author of this book has used arachnids to great effect. The suspense and mystery surrounding these deadly foes was masterfully written. There are several twists and turns in the story, which kept me guessing, and a fair few surprises too. However, there are a few issues I have with the storyline. The paranormal aspect was intriguing, but I was a bit disappointed with the lack of detail of the transformation process, and what it actually means to be a Tegan for Sara personally. I was also a bit confused with Sara's actions - running from her boyfriend, but then going back with him, even though the rest of his family didn't like her - and also having a new boyfriend at the same time. Another issue I had was the revenge/vigilante aspect. I am not a fan of this type of action whether you are a real person, or a character in a book. However, since the people involved were scumbags of the first order, I suppose I can see why though! The ending was satisfying and left me happy.

Inge-Lise Goss has written an intriguing horror full of mystery and suspense. I am curious to see what this author comes up with in the future.

I do not recommend this book to younger readers due to some violence and scenes of a sensual nature that, although are not explicit, are rather hot, and to readers who have arachnophobia or of a nervous disposition. However, I recommend this book if you love horror/suspense genres. - Lynn Worton

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome and fantastic story!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on February 19, 2014
Now, I am terrified of spiders. Can't stand them. But don't let this put you off. I simply glided over the word and ignored it. Having said that I really wish she had chosen a bug, any bug but that one. But I can honestly say I absolutely loved this book.
The storyline was like nothing I have ever read before. It was fantastic. The story and the characters were again, incredibly well written. There were no editing mistakes that I could see and no spelling or words missing etc.
I fell in love with the characters. I was willing her to leave Connor and stay with Brett then it all went topsy turvy. I twas unbelievable. For me a good book is one that you just don't want to put down, and trust me when I say I really hated working while I was reading this book. Major inconvenience.
it has to be said I would be very surprised if a big publisher didn't pick this book up because it really does deserve it.
Read this book, gloss over the spidery bit if you don't like them, but it is fantastic and a must read. I cannot wait until the next in the series.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sans intérêt
Reviewed in France on June 17, 2015
