At 40 years old, Konstantina thought she was living an exciting life, feeling successful in her corporate career and content in her heart. Still, there was an unspeakable void, hidden so deeply and camouflaged so carefully that she had failed, throughout the years, to become fully aware of its existence.

It took a hike on Mt Kilimanjaro to break the protective shell and start uncovering the truth. On Uhuru peak, she received her own wake-up call which acted as her invitation towards the archetypal adventure of homecoming, urging her to seek the answer to the existential question that drives every human story and can be summarized in three words: “Who am I?”

By accepting the call, she found herself stepping on a mystical trail which included a cycle of seven, mainly trekking, expeditions. As time passed by, she realized that although she initially thought she was merely hiking in several countries around the world, she was actually hiking her way to self-discovery.

    This is a very special book to me, one where the author shares the stages of their journey to uncovering who they are as an individual, a woman and a spiritual being and making sense of it all in our modern context.

    What I love are the many beautiful illustrations given from the experiences she had, which for me have given a new more beautiful and wise frame of reference. We all have our own journey to go on to finding our truths, and the author began to slowly uncover theirs by climbing mountains and hiking some of the most famous places in the world, Everest, The great wall of China, Kilimanjaro and many others..
    What I love is how her journey began by "accident".. but are there really accidents in life ? I love how she dove into the unknown and what resulted is now for our reading pleasure and serves as an inspirational companion..

    If you're into adventure and are looking at changing something in your life, this book will be a nice friend for you along the way.

    In her fantastic debut novel, Konstantina embarks on a voyage of self discovery which begins with a hike on Mount Kilimanjaro and ends with the knowledge of inner truth. On the face of it, the book acts as a travel memoir, so vividly beautiful are Konstantina's descriptions of her numerous hiking expeditions as she explores famous landscapes and treks across continents.

    But underneath the visual pleasures lie real relatable life issues - relationships, love, grief, questions of life and death.

    Through her hiking and trekking expeditions, Konstantina takes the reader on a very intimate journey as her personal story weaves through dusty roads, up and down mountains and across cultures.

    Nicely paced with a gentle easy flow which is sort of meditative in it's rhythm, the close of each chapter acts as an end of another trip and the start of a new one, both physically and mentally.

    This is a truly unique read and a great debut novel from an author who is sure to have further literary success in the future.

    Having visited some of the places mentioned in the book, I am in awe of how Konstantina manages to find words for things I thought could never be described.
