About the Author

David Greene's creative life has evolved from film to photography to writing. While a student at the University of Michigan he wrote and directed a feature length film, Pamela and Ian, in which the characters grapple with the fact that they are shadows of light and that the film must end.

After college, David created a collection of black and white photographic portraits of men and women who artfully played with gender roles. This collection of photographs, called Shameless, was exhibited in galleries in Berkeley, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, and Zurich. He also created a series of photographs for the book Men Loving Men. Two of these photographs were donated to the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago by newspaper art critic Dennis Adrian.

David turned to writing in 2010 with the publication of Unmentionables, which was awarded the bronze medal for Gay Fiction at the Book of the Year awards at the American Library Association conference in New Orleans on June 25, 2011.

David Greene is married to James Stephens, a painter and art conservator.
