The Zimmer Doctrine (Corps Justice Book 11) Kindle Edition
Stand tall in belief.
A country leans on leaders
Strength must hold us firm.
While The Zimmer Doctrine stands as a beacon of courage and hope, its architect, American President Brandon Zimmer, still needs his most important ally at his side. But rocked with personal loss, and a nagging sense of doubt and inevitability, Cal Stokes may no longer be the man to stand with his friend, or to lead the warriors of The Jefferson Group. What does the future hold for this once stalwart patriot, and what might his inaction mean for America and its allies?

WHY C. G. COOPER MATTERS
Fiction has the power to change lives.
Pay a visit to Cooper Country and you’ll understand why. With his unique voice and flair for creating characters you’d love to hang out with, C. G. Cooper imparts every one of his novels with messages that perfectly illuminate what Faulkner called, “the human heart in conflict with itself.” In them, characters confront hard truths about life, the necessity of war, the military industrial complex, and why and how good men and women die.
But there are messages within the messages.
There is the power of the individual to triumph over evil against overwhelming odds; the struggle of good people against their inner demons; there is brotherhood, family, the discovery of allies in unexpected places, struggles with faith; there is community; there is authenticity; Cooper’s heart is on every page, beating hard and fast through action and moments of tenderness alike.
Expect high-octane action, slow-burn thrills, and gut-wrenching drama. Expect the ultimate conflict of the human heart.
This is Cooper Country. Lives will change.
THE LOWDOWN
Drawing on his days as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps—a stint that came on the heels of a degree in foreign affairs from UVA—Cooper sifted his experience through his vivid imagination and created Corps Justice, the first novel in the beloved Corps Justice series. Thus, a band of characters was born that would go on to enthrall readers throughout 17 novels and counting. With more than 2 million book downloads and multiple appearances in the Amazon Top 100, C. G. Cooper remains one of the most successful USA TODAY and Amazon best-selling authors.
In 2020, he won the prestigious James Webb Award presented by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation for his novel Chain of Command.
In addition to bouncing around the country in search of the perfect vacation (turns out, it is anywhere with his family), Cooper has called Nashville home ever since his final Marine duty station. When not enjoying the laid-back lifestyle of Music City, he’s doing his best to add more novels to the growing list at cg-cooper.com.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2015In the interest of full disclosure, I am a Beta reader for this series, as well as a member of the Novels Live team (I heartily recommend the Novels Live to all of you who love great stories and how they are created). I would also state that I gladly paid full price for this book, it is that good. You need to support good authors, whenever possible, or you will be reduced to wading through the muck of "free" stuff. looking for the occasional shiny nugget of a good read. If you are new to C. G. Cooper and the Corps Justice series of stories, there are several novels and short stories for free from Amazon to get you started and, of course, all the books in the series are available to you on Kindle Unlimited.
The characters in this book are well created and very easy to become involved with. The plot is quite complex, keeping your interest and never leading you to a foregone conclusion. As part of a continuing series, it does build on past interactions with characters and situations, but it can easily be read as a stand alone story as there is just enough background to whet your interest in what has gone before. I am a firm believer in not giving away anything in a review, other than my thoughts on the craftsmanship of the author. I will say this of Mr. Cooper's writing. He has made me laugh out loud, he has brought back memories of my youth, and he has caused me to shed more than a few tears. There are sections of his books that send the same chills down my spine as the sound of The Star Spangled Banner or the sight of Old Glory passing in review. He gives you that rare glimpse into the hearts and souls of the Warriors who keep this great nation safe. We see where they came from, what forces shaped them into what they are, and most importantly, we see them as deeply caring human beings, with a sense of honor and justice that can only be imagined by most of us.
Mr. Cooper's background as a Marine leader, his love of his country, and, most of all, his love for the concept of family are clearly shown in every story. This story is one of his best efforts yet and you will not be disappointed. Thank you for your time, now go enjoy the book!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 30, 2015I enjoyed the book. It does build on past novels with characters and situations, but it can easily be read as a stand alone story as there is just enough background to make you want to read the rest of the series, I know because I started on Papal Justice got hooked and started from the beginning. Plot is well developed, lots of action and the characters are well developed but I still wanted more build up to the end. I say this because I wanted the book to last longer. Will there be new team members after this? The actual Zimmer Doctrine has been proposed before by authors and pundits. I wish instead of authors and pundits proposing the "leaders" of our country would do this and evaluate what we are giving other countries and how they are expressing their gratitude. .
This is enjoyable book by Mr. Cooper, Waiting for the next book or short story.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2015Another great read by Cooper. Spoiler alert.
This one starts in Israel and the kidnapping of Dr. Aviel Nahas. Nahas has been doing work for the Govt. of Israel and someone, a billionaire wants him to finish that work so that he can use it.
Cal Stokes is still mourning the loss of his last living relative. His cousin Travis Haden. President Zimmer and the guys in TJG have all tried to talk to Cal but Cal has spent six months traveling around the world, drinking, fighting and remembering Travis and the fact that he's dead.
Daniel Briggs, Snake Eyes, is Cal's bodyguard and best friend. He tells everyone to leave Cal alone. He will get over Travis's death and be back with TJG.
Col. Osman was the Israeli from the Govt. who was in charge of Dr. Nahas. When Nahas disappears and he finds the two agents who were guarding him dead, Osman knows something is way wrong. No one outside the Govt. new of Dr. Nahas. Osman knows someone in the Govt. has betrayed them all. The problem is he has no idea who.
So begins another great read by Cooper.
This one has Cal, Daniel, Gaucho, Trent, SSI, a billionaire named Baxter, President Zimmer making a speech at the UN, Col. Osman, Osman's assistant Maya Eilenberg, an Eilenberg who will be ferried to America after surviving against those who follow her, Eilenberg's Aunt Hannah, a Hannah who is way more than she appears to be, a Cal who gets a message left for him by Travis, a trip to an island owned by Baxter, a Baxter who's a sociopathic killer, a hurricane, a dog left for Cal by Travis, the dog, a German Shorthaired Pointer who Cal calls Liberty, SSI arriving on the island during that hurricane, a battle between SSI and Baxter's mercenaries, a plot by Baxter, twenty eight luxury yachts and Baxter's plans for them and Cal Stokes and his team doing what it takes to survive and save the day.
Five Stars.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 19, 2015“His hand stopped cold and the blood drained from” the face of President Zimmerman. He turns to his friend, former marine, Cal Stokes, and tasks Cal and the Jefferson Group to “find out what the hell is going on and find out why Israel wants to start a war with the United States of America.” Things are not as they appear to be! Join Cal and the gang in this action-packed thriller as they battle a sinister billionaire with plans that will put the free world in jeopardy.
This is one of Carlos Cooper’s best novels. There are deadly twists and turns through each page to captivate the reader. I bought and read this book today! Although I had followed it on Novels Live as Mr. Cooper was writing it, I couldn’t wait to read it again on my Kindle! This is a GREAT novel and I give it my highest recommendation!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 11, 2020After the loss of Travis, Cal went on a half year sabbatical. He was still grieving when Travis's last letter was found and led to a blow out party. The next morning the President got some information from a deep undercover lady that put the Jefferson Group to work. Exciting and action packed and I like the new addition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic follow on from the prior book in the series
This book starts off with the handling of the shock at the ending of the last book. I'm not going into it as its nice to keep the surprise that way. Anyhow, the story starts off everyone dealing with the shock from the last book. It actually makes all the people feel like humans instead of unfeeling soldiers which was fantastic.
Anyway, as Cal is trying to find his way, there's another threat to the US. It was an interesting and well thought out plot. The bad guy that stars in this one is one sick guy let me tell you. However as Cal starts to come back to himself the group figures things out and saves the day. Oh and Liberty joins the group - who just doesn't love a puppy? I can see her being a huge asset too.
Hope the stories keep coming, and my only complaint is I'm not getting much of anything else done except reading he books I haven't had a chance to read...

3.0 out of 5 stars Go with the Flow!
This is my 4th book of Cooper. It looks that I am expecting too much from the author, considering my review title.
A secret operation is underway to wake a war against USA. Meanwhile, US President Zimmer's United Nation Address is met with a mixed reaponse. One day, a lady is introduced to Zimmer. Sending something is fish, Zimmer asks his trusted friend, Cal Stokes to dig into the matter.
Who is the lady? What will Cal & his team find out?
Read the novel to know the answers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good read
A good book that keeps the momentum going. Well done. Storyline continues with suspense and has not become repetitive as with some authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!
What a read! It was great to see everyone rally round Cal while giving him the space he needed. But how brilliant to see him back at his best while on a mission. A fantastic book and recommend other readers don’t miss it. 5 Star worthy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Too much biographical description
Starts off with Cal trying to come to terms with the death of cousin Travis, shutting himself away from everyone. After several months a letter comes into his possesion which changes things. In the meantime an Israeli inventor is kidnapped, which leads the team on a hunt to find his whereabouts. This leads to the Carribean, a hurricane and ....... well, I’ll leave the rest for you to find out. But back to my headline. There are literally pages and pages of narrative about the history and background of several characters. Whilst very inventive writing, most of it has very little in the way of advancing the story, and could be dispensed with quite easil without loss to the story. It almost seems as if the author is just filling up the word count (as do many, many authors unfortunately), which is a shame as previous books in the series were much tighter stories.
