Thirst for You (A Beyond the Cove Novel Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 937 ratings

What happens when thirst becomes an obsession that can’t be quenched?

Forty-year-old Zachariah Taylor prides himself on being the overprotective older brother of seven. He owns a successful bar, Zach’s Bar and Grill, in the quiet town of Riverside Falls and loves the life he’s built for himself. But as his siblings move on and find their forever partners in life, he’s starting to feel less and less needed—not to mention old. Suddenly, he’s finding it even harder to ignore the younger man who has pursued him for years, but the twelve years separating them is something Zach can’t seem to overlook.

Twenty-eight-year-old Drew Belford has been in love with the stubborn Zach Taylor for seven years. Sure, he was a kid when they’d first met, but what Zach is determined to ignore is the man Drew has become. Drew, however, is just as strong-minded and refuses to let Zach use their age difference as an excuse to disregard the attraction burning between them. He doesn’t need an overprotective older brother—he needs Zach.

When Drew begins to get unsettling messages from an unknown person, Zach feels helpless in a way he’s never felt before. How can he protect Drew from someone he can’t find? The thought of anyone hurting Drew unleashes years’ worth of pent-up desire Zach has had for the younger man. Is his thirst for Drew enough to protect him from the danger lurking in the shadows, or will the threat of the unknown be enough to douse the spark of love between them—and silence Drew forever?

***Thirst for You is the second book in the Beyond the Cove series. Although it can be read as a standalone, it is recommended that you read book one first to prevent spoilers. It contains situations of violence that may be disturbing to some readers. This book contains sexually explicit material and is intended for mature readers 18 and older.

I have been an artist from a very young age. From drawing cartoon characters and evolving into portraits, making jewelry, photography, and now writing. I have an amazing support system in my family and friends and couldn’t be more grateful.

I live in central New Jersey, love summers at the Jersey Shore, rock music, wine, sexy men, and laughing a lot with my amazing friends and family. Sunday dinners at my parents’ house are crazy, hysterical and you can count on a movie quote…or ten…being thrown out. Insults between siblings is how we show our love for each other!

When I’m not creating, you can find me reading books from my favorite authors. I’m a hopeless romantic, starving for passionate characters and always craving that happy ending, whether in reading or in writing my own books.

I have really enjoyed each book in the Haven Cove and Beyond the Cove series. I was intrigued by Eli’s big family since they were introduced in Drawn to You. If you haven’t read it, grab it right now! It’s not necessary to read that first before reading Thirst for You but spoilers would be an issue. This book focuses on Zach & Drew - it’s got an interesting plot (mystery not too hard to solve but keeps things interesting) and great MCs and supporting characters too. The author has built a great little universe in Riverside falls and I hope there are at least a few more books to come or another spin-off thereafter.

This is a good story with wonderful characters. I love how Free and Zach act with each other and how Drew finally puts Zach in his place and gets his feelings out in the open. Zach is scared of things he can't control and loving Drew is one of them.

I liked reading about their connection and how things change with everything that is going on. I enjoyed seeing all the different types of relationships in the book and how they changed for the better and the worst.

You should check out this book and the first book in the series.

This book and the plot was so good that I skimmed through some of the sex scenes because I was so into it.
Drew has been crushing on Zach for seven years and while Zach also have felt the attraction he always felt he was to old for Drew. But when he discovers Drews second job there's a crack in his determination and it splits wide open when Drew gets the attention of a stalker.

I was totally into the story and the suspense was killing me. I was just like Drew and started to suspect anyone he had contact with. And just like the first book there's tons of supporting characters just begging for their own books.
Can't wait to read more books in this series!

It took me a minute to get used to this style writing. Meaning talking as the 3rd person, or the characters dialogue intermingled where I needed to think off who was saying what.
But this is now my second book in the series and the characters have me captivated, so I’ll continue to read this series to get the HEA.
After the series’s though I don’t believe I’ll be reading another from this author.
    Definitely a good read

Zach and Drew's happily ever after had a lot of twists and turns and suspense! The small town was turned upside down by Drew's stalker and the twists the storyline took. It was pleasant to see Jake, Eli and the boys as well when Zach's family gathered for different occasions. This was a true standalone in this series.

Spoiler---->I was on edge for this entire book and then cried at the end. As happy as I was for Zach and Drew, I'm dying for more on Sawyer, Mason and Grant...and the next book is not about them (although im excited for Ryder and Avery's story too) and quite honestly I have no clue what the author is going to do for them, assuming they even have a book coming?? Anyway...it takes away from Drew's and Zach's happy ending...not in a bad way but I just really want to see it all summed up. Long review short, this was incredible, but has me dying for more.

I don't even know where to begin...this book had me glued to my seat anxiously waiting to see what will happen with Zack and Drew. It was so much fun to see how Drew wouldn't give up on his feelings for Zack and the banter between them was hilarious. Twists in this book are amazing and I NEVER saw them coming! Like seriously WHAAAAT!?

If you've read my previous reviews of Jaclyn Quinn's books you know how much I love her and her books. With each one she puts out the love keeps growing and growing. I can't wait to meat the next couple to fall head over heels in love with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic series
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 9, 2023
This story revolves around Zack and Drew. We can see the electricity between them and so can they but Zack is trying so hard to resist it. He seems hung up on the age gap despite his friends and mum telling him it isn't an issue. Drew is more than aware of the effect he has on Zack and directs innuendo at him in most conversations. When Zach finally gives into temptation we are presented with really hot scenes, combustion consumes them both, paralysed by overwhelming lust. This author writes sex scenes so well, no skimping and full on descriptions, palpable heartbeats and dripping with emotion. Running alongside the budding romance is a stalker storyline which ups the intensity and adds angst to the story. The story then takes a diversion as the stalking mystery takes over, this creates lots of drama with a real twist. We meet lots of secondary characters and the storyline helps draw other character's personalities out. We can see other possible couples emerging, which will be fun to watch. I loved watching Zack and Drew sort themselves out, they are a perfect pair. I'm really enjoying this series.

This was a great read - predominately due to the mystery/thriller vibe to it. One of our MCs, Drew, is being stalked and it's turning increasingly violent to the point where he is attacked and hospitalised. On the romance side of things, throughout the book we see him desperately trying to get Zach to notice him and treat him as an adult, not a kid, given their 12yr age gap. He has been lusting after Zach for over 7yrs, and is getting to the point of giving up for good, except Zach is now sending him mixed signals.

Zach has been trying hard not to give in to Drew's persistent advances - after all, not only is he the much younger brother of one of his friends, but he is also an employee. But he can't help but notice the confident young man, and he finally starts to listen to his family who keep telling him to stop making decisions for other people. They also don't hold back in telling him he's overbearing and overprotective. When Drew is threatened, those protective instincts go into overdrive, but also make him realise what he stands to lose, and make him wake up to a few home truths about himself too.

The mystery/thriller plot kept me guessing the whole book - while there were a few hints dropped here and there about who it might be, I didn't get the full picture until the end (and yes, there are some red herrings thrown in by the author too).

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and can't wait to read more in this series.

Romance, mystery, and some hot hot scenes! What more can you want in a book!
My only issue was Angie, they really gave her a hard time when they had no right too. If she didn't feel safe, she didn't feelsafe. They shouldn't expect her to put her safety at risk as well.

Drew and Zach's story was a good read. Good amount of action, a bit of lull in the middle, then fast paced at the end - perhaps a spot of scene setting for the next books with Mason/ Grant/ Sawyer potential MMM and the back story to Avery 's budding romance. The stalker mystery was a good one, I did guess straight away who the baddie was, although the author did a really good job with distraction.

I haven't read book1, got the plot idea from this book though and didn't have any gaps.

I loved this. Drew has wanted and loved his boss, Zach for seven years. Zach has been resisting him, Drew is his employee, his best friend's younger brother and he's too young for him. But Drew is relentless and is slowly wearing him down. When a series of events occur putting Drew's life in danger, Zach finds he can't resist anymore, he can't lose Drew. This was brilliantly written, the mystery surrounding the stalker was well done. Lots of twists and turns with a very surprising outcome. Expect the unexpected. I'm so looking forward to the next book.
