When the feeders started to rise, the small English village of Thornhurst believed it was immune to the problems of the towns and cities. The news of civil disobedience, rioting and violent attacks didn't initially seem a concern for a small and traditional place such as Thornhurst. They had a peaceful existence; the old village pub and tea shop being the most lively part of village life. Then the dead came. Former neighbours and wandering strangers only had one thing on their primitive minds, to feast upon the living. The simple invention of a weight loss drug had changed the world forever. Fighting off the dead, raiders and dealing with an overstretched army, the villagers of Thornhurst were ill-prepared for this new dead world. This is the story of what happened to Thornhurst, and those that called it home. A standalone story from the Deadweight universe. Also available now are the full-length novels: "Deadweight" and "The Last Bite".

In 2019, Paul published his first novel "Deadweight", a zombie apocalypse story, and released the follow-up, and concluding part, "The Last Bite" in 2020. "Thornhurst: A Deadweight Novella" is a standalone story from the Deadweight universe released in January 2021. A reader of many genres, Paul is currently working on his Manx Detective series. "Fall of Man" is the first in the series of gritty crime books set on the Isle of Man and currently available to read, with the follow-up currently in progress. A departure from the undead, the Isle of Man holds a special place in Paul's heart and he's excited to be working in a different genre, but in a very familiar location.

Paul is happily married, and lives with his wife, two beautiful daughters, a dog and a cat in the South East of England. When he's not writing, he can be found camping with his family, taking long walks at National Trust properties, drinking coffee or when he can, enjoying a nice gin and tonic.
