I guess that why I liked the first book Devil Dog better than the last three. With saying that I was so looking forward to Sawyer and Rhiannon story. I just didn’t

    When I first read the series, I could not connect. The D/s just seemed to harsh...the sex was too rough and raw. The women just too ‘around the block’ experienced.

    I like cuddles, hugging, romance, women innocent or very little sexual experience. Then I tried the series again - with Sawyer’s story.

    What can I say- it’s Delta James. I am a fan.

    Intrigue. Excitement. The best lines coming from Sawyer about commitment and never,ever giving up when the love of his life is brutally attacked and tortured during a mission. She limps away to heal and for revenge. For years.

    The military group stage a situation Rhiannon could not resist to show up - Sawyer swooped in and took control. Yes, the Dom came back to life!

    I have read this book now over and over. The lines are so good. I do like my men strong, confident, and committed. And that is Sawyer.

    We need another story in the series.

    This was a great romance with a lot of action and adventure! I loved Sawyer and Rhiannon - their start, their grief at being apart, and then their fresh beginning.     Top Dog is the fourth book in Delta James’ Mercenary Masters series. In this book, Ms. James focuses on the romantic journey of Rhiannon Farret and Sawyer Barnes. Both were in the same military unit. He served with Captain Robert Fritzwallace’s team. She was attached to said team in the capacity of a medic. She saves the team and is captured and tortured. Fritzwallace’s team rescues her, but, Rhiannon “Rhia” is damaged emotionally and physically. She disappears into the night seeking revenge on Baddad Sayeed, an insurrectionist. Sawyer does not give up hope that he will be reunited with Rhia. Destiny intersects their paths allowing them to seek out Sayeed. Will they be able to eliminate him? Will find be able to find love with Sawyer? You must read this book to find out.

    As the other books in this series, Ms. James does a remarkable job captivating her readers’ attention. She creates multi-layered lead characters. Her lead characters are strong, determined, confident yet can also be vulnerable. I enjoyed their growth as the story progressed. I liked the strong dialog. I appreciated the dual point of view to tell their back stories. Ms. James’ use of descriptive language paints vivid scenes. Well done, Ms. James.

    Another fun and steamy read from this author. I don't even have to think when she offers a new book I just automatically get it and read it immediately. This one doesn't disappoint and is another great adventure of the Cerberus group. Loved Sawyer, so drool worthy, and Rhiannon is the best at giving him sass. Some others from the Cerberus group join the fray which makes for a bunch more fun!
