- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2023The three books I read were fast paced, engaging and pretty realistic. I had just left Amsterdam when I read that book so it was cool to picture the different locations. It is hard to imagine anyone keeping their job after 7 murders - or anyone using that agency - but it is fiction. The character development was good, so much so I could create mental pictures of them without it being too wordy of descriptions.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2023These books are filled with travel info and interesting characters. Each book brings us tourism spots within each different city/ country. Lana, a new tour guide, takes us on a journey which is filled with the wonders of different places, cafes, restaurants and what make each site unique. As it is Lana’a first time I’m
N Budapest, Paris and Amsterdam, we get a perspective of visiting each site from her eyes, as if we are there. I love how we discover the interesting things about each. Of course, there are murders, which I would hope never to experience on a tour. The tours continue as Lana works to solve each mystery. A bit unbelievable, but expected in each book. But, the wonders of the places, the different characters as well as the motives all work to bring us a really good book.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2022Well, on the one hand, it makes me want to travel but on the other, it makes me tired thinking about all that goes into traveling. Getting an opportunity to travel as a tour guide for her landlords travel agency, Lana reluctantly agrees not knowing that a murder will result in her using her investigative skills from her time as a reporter to help solve the crime. First time is in Budapest, then Paris, and finally the Netherlands. The third is more personal as it involves her mother, but at the end of the day, they help her get over being divorced and jobless.
Lots of background on the locations, hence my desire to travel and visit those places. A little romance, although the cheating potential boyfriend in book 2 didn't help with her finding a new love interest. I did like the themes of the trips. Although being a guide to couples and you aren't one is depressing. The mother's day overstated that way too with estrangement from her mom. The first was just depressing as she was hoping to get past her heartache to be working with a heartbreaker who ends up murdered. There is usually a good reason for her getting involved.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2025This is the 3rd book in Travel Can Be Murder serie and it is set in Amsterdam, Europe during Mothers' Day. We follow here several mothers with daughters who travel on a guided tour to Amsterdam. Including main character Lana' s mother Gilian. And while touring murders occur. Lana is trying to solve it and get rid of suspision that her mother Gilian is the culprit.
I like this serie because it combines travel with mystery solving. In this book we get to know a lot about Amsterdam and its important monuments. We get to know also about Lana's private life and resolving also her past problem in previous work as a journalist.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2024I enjoyed all three stories in this collection. I did figure out a key piece of evidence in the last book very early and wondered why the author didn't tell it until closer to the end. The writing style was one that drew me in and let me travel to the destinations from my armchair, which was cost efficient. Look forward to reading more by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Irresistible Mix
Travel, humour and murder - a great combination. The characters are enjoyable and real, even the villains. The travel details are, to me, most interesting. The murders, investigations and results are also well done. I think I’ll be looking for more of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's great to get away
I love the characters especially Lana and Dotty and I love the travel. It feels like I'm on the tours with them, taking in the beautiful views and delicious aromas. I can see it all and smell it all. I love a good murder mystery. I solved this one before Lana did. Great cost mystery. I loved this set of books. Brilliant.

4.0 out of 5 stars I liked these books!
The books have great descriptions of the places visited. The plots were believable, and the characters were the same - they got angry, or had hurt feelings, and sometimes behaved badly, in the heat of the moment. I enjoyed reading them.
