    Another great book by Ms.Belaire that has you by the edge of your seat. It’s a love story that continues with the lives of Nick and Shae’s bodyguard, Max, and his girlfriend Gina. Max has finally found the girl he wants to spend his life with but he has to fight for it, because she has her doubts about him. She doesn’t want to be second choice, she needs to be the one he truly wants. He has to prove to her that he cares for her and this is not a game they are playing, or that it is just sex. Things begin to come together at her party until a surprise happening. Loving her books. Highly recommended.

    The third book in the Surviving Absolution series, The Truth About Tequila picks up from where Everything with You ends. There's a lot of background information that gets carried forward from the previous books so I highly recommend you read them first.

    Gina, mafia princess, carries wounds from her past and is all too willing to believe that she'll never be anything but second choice for Max. She longs for more with him but doesn't believe she deserves is. Max works hard trying to keep everyone safe and even harder to convince Gina (and at times, himself) that it's Gina that he wants, and not Shae, new wife of his best friend and boss.

    Gina and Max are both complex, interesting characters, both fiercely protective of the ones they love and their relationship has plenty of heat along with more than a splash of humor. Of course, we get to see the continuation of Nick and Shea's story and there are several other interesting supporting characters as well. While there were some crazy plot twists and lots of suspense, the story did still drag a bit for me at times, as it felt a bit repetitive. That major cliff-hanger ending, though, means I certainly want to read the next book and find out what happens. 4 stars.

I absolutely fell in love with Nick and Shaw and had them as my new favorite couple, but Max and Gina are fighting for the top spot now! I'm in love with this series, this author, and these characters! I can't wait for the next installment in this series! I'm a fan for life!

    The third install of Surviving Absolution was all about Max and Gina's story. This was a great romance of misunderstandings and fear. Max is super sexy and caring, even though he tries to be tough. Gina has secrets and feels she's not worth the love Max portrays to her. Their chemistry is strong but they can't seem to go beyond the surface, until they realize they can't stay away from each other and have to find a way to connect and move beyond their pasts. I loved their story and was happy for Max, he deserves to be loved and has so much love to give. Max and Gina are a great couple and hope their story continues.

    I read this book in one sitting because it's the kind of book you never want to put down once you pick it up. There's suspense, intrigue, mystery, friendship, and romance. This book had it all! It's the story of mafia princess Gina who doesn't need a man in her life telling her what to do, how to do it, or when to do it. She's tough and she's trying really hard not to remember her past

    Enter Max, the man she might be willing to give her heart to except for one small problem. Max happens to be in love with boss's wife or is he still? Max feels a connection to Gina but she's not having it. She likes things just the way they are.

    Will Max be able to convince Gina they might have a chance, does he even want that? Does Gina? All past characters in previous books are here to play too but it certainly reads as a stand alone.

    I was kind of bored while reading this book. I really liked Max from the first two books and was looking forward to his story but I just wasn't into it. Maybe I was annoyed that they just couldn't get together or just that I was confused because things were vaguely explained. Since this ended on a cliffhanger, I probably will read the next one to find out what happens.

    All the excitement continues in this book. Nick and Shae along with Max and Gina. Max and Gina goes through the struggles of their relationship. The ups and downs of the mob life. Having to constantly watch your back and trying to keep the women safe. Max is continuously trying to keep Shae and Gina safe. Gina gets injured and her ex helps her. Max decides to step aside. That doesnt work for Gina. All the struggles she goes through to try to get him back is awesome. Love this book and can't wait for the continuation of this story.

    This is a book that once you start reading, you will not be able to sit it down for long. I recommend that you read the first the books in the series to get the background of all the characters. This book ends in a cliffhanger and I can't wait till book 2 comes out. You will not be disappointed , there is a lot of hot sexy scenes and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a must read.
