Dr Wint feels that being a grandmother and getting involved in preschool activities has taught her a great deal and makes it easier to relate to the problems parents presently experience. For her, writing for parents and caregivers fills a space as children are faced with so many new challenges on a daily basis.

Nevertheless there are many parents out there who just need guidance and reassurance and that is something Dr Wint is able to do admirably. Her books are written to reach all parents and caregivers from all walks of life and cultures. She has been using the book with new parents and is intent on teaching how children can build their love of self and respect for Christian ways while parents and early childhood educators learn the keys to building children's self confidence, self-esteem and respect for their cultural heritage.

Tweet Tweet & Friends is a series co-authored with her granddaughter, Lois. It is a joyful little book with 3 in the series, a prequel and two other books. All together these tell us about friendship in so many different ways. These awesome little penguins all live with their famlilies and now in the final book, hilariously experience whether the egg they are guarding will be a girl or a boy.

Teaching about parenting, "I Like Me" is her first book teaching the SHINE technique. Her book "Marcus Teaches Us" is unique in that it is the first book published for children on the teachings of the great philosopher Marcus Garvey. The book on "Bob Marley" is an historic compilation of speakers at the first Symposium held from the historic Bob Marley Museum at the University of the West Indies.     Family Fun Day is a story set in a winter wonderland called Penguin World. The story follows a young and unique penguin named Tweet Tweet. While at Family Fun Day, Tweet Tweet is feeling somewhat anxious about returning to school. Her mother comforts her and reminds her to focus on the day in front of them and just have fun. After some reassurance, Tweet Tweet runs into her friend, Pegie. Tweet Tweet and Pegie have fun in the snow and ice and talk to many of their school friends; their teacher even shows up! After a full day with the other penguins, Tweet Tweet and her family head home for dinner and quality family time. This book is a heartwarming story about identity, family, and friendship. Welcome to Penguin World!

    Opinion:
    Family Fun Day is a perfect book for intermediate readers. Not only does it incorporate a higher level of vocabulary, but the story also includes themes that are relevant to children in late elementary grades or middle school. Tweet Tweet, the main character has a moment where she is anxious about returning to school, and her mother assures her that positivity will help any situation. Tweet Tweet then gains a boost of confidence to hang out with her school friends and be confident about who she is as a penguin with a different wing shape and feather color. This internal struggle will help readers recognize the importance of confidence and the relief that others feel this way sometimes. These themes also highlight the character growth in Tweet Tweet and her friends as well. Additionally, since the book is for more experienced readers, there are less illustrations, but the present illustrations are vibrant and pair with the story perfectly. In fact, the story would feel bare without them. Ultimately, this book is exceptional because of the vibrant illustrations, level of vocabulary, character development and relatability, and the relevant themes.

    I was provided this book for an honest review through Multicultural Book Day 2022. My review was delayed due to communication issues and a late delivery of the eBook.

    There's a lot to say about this book, and not all of it is good. Let's start with the positive - there's a lot of great ideas presented in this story. Staying positive, family connection, and accepting differences are among the themes talked about. However, there is A LOT going on in this story. None of the themes are dealt with in depth. The main character, and the plot, jump from thing to thing and place to place.

    One of the biggest issues with this book is grammar. There are MANY punctuation errors throughout the book, which I found to take away from the story. Random words are enlarged and colorized for no apparent reason. Speaking of color, for a picture book it could use a lot more illustrations. This book is in desperate need of some professional editing.

    Knowing that this book was written by a child and her grandmother redeems it quite a bit. Despite the chaos of the storyline and the atrocious grammar, this book is cute. I'm sure there are kids out there who would enjoy it.

    Amazing! Tweet Tweet and Friends are exactly what we need. It brings back the mentality of what friendship, family, fun and it takes a village to raise a child. The adventures and the joy for life makes this book very captivating. These stories should be used in schools and I eagerly await more adventures from Tweet Tweet and Friends. High Fives to the authors, I would love to meet you all some day.

    This story touches on friendship, family values, and having fun. Educational nuggets are intertwined to create enjoyable reading. I love the story, and I am looking forward to reading more adventures in the ongoing series.

    Such a resilient penguin which comes out in the authors’ writing which is very powerful for kids as they battle with their own problems.

    It’s on her night stand and I know she likes it!
