Unlocked (First of the Blade Book 3) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,202 ratings

Magic is a part of the world. Now the First of the Blade must master it.

Having saved her people from the danger of the branox, Imogen must find a way to lead them home. The way back is treacherous and there’s an ever-present threat of more dark creatures attacking.

When hunted by a new threat, the sacred patterns are not enough. Imogen must find a way to bring her people together while staying on the path the Porapeth have seen for her, but even that might not lead her to safety.

The First of the Blade must be more than a sacred sword master. If she can’t unlock potential hidden deep inside her, all her people will fall.

What an amazing read. At times I became indifferent but the middle of the story line grabbed me and would not let go. Imogen had so much working against her and at times felt so tired and defeated. However, the infusion of Benji the Porapeth's strange magical powers saves her. Although she was unable to defeat Abigail immense Porapeth powers, she was able to gain an insight into what more would be required to fully embrace her own powers.

So many twists and turns as Imogen acquires more and more complex skills, powers and now magic. The confrontation with the porapeth Abigail sets the scene for what is to come. Can’t wait for “Umlocked”.

A story that uses sword and magic in a new way. Credit to the author for coming up with a whole new way for magic to be thought of and used

An awesome book. This book gives some answers to Imogen's past and possible her destiny as well. As much as I do enjoy the spiritual (patterns) side of martial arts, I would have like more physical fights, but in this book, I understand why there was more need for the other side.

Imogen has always struggled with her past. She has also never truly been accepted by her own people. Now, she must lead now only her own people but their sworn enemies as well, along a dangerous territory. Imogen might actually get some answers. Will she decide her own destiny or be a pawn in of in a game of powerful beings?

Everything about this book is great. The story, the ongoing plot lines, all the characters play their parts perfectly. It is always the make of a great book when the biggest regret it is finished. I can't wait for the next book.
