This book is a good addition to books one and two. I enjoyed it and learned a lot. I will keep it as a reference for future use.

It has some very good tips on building antennas. Things like what type of wire to use and how to care for you coax if you run in on the ground.

The reason I gave only four stars is that the author did not include some real world antennas he used himself. Otherwise the info is very good, especially with beginner Hams taking their first steps into the wild and interesting world of HF communications. I have been licensed since 1979, and have used almost totally wire antennas to the point that a buzzard would not be able to fly through my backyard untouched. My favorite wire is covered #10 stranded as it will carry from 1W up to 2.5Kw at resonance, yet be strong and flexible enough to take any abuse the weather can throw at it. It also reduces "copper loss" found in smaller diameter wire. I do run a Mosely TA-36 Trapmaster with the 40M add on kit for Navy/Air Force MARS use, but that is the only commercially made antenna in use at my shack. Buy the books, the info is great for beginners and oldtimers alike.

Not much substance here. First part of the book is nothing more than a promo for various antenna modeling software, rest of the book is a rehash of the antenna section of a technician class study guide. Disappointing, at best. No comparisons, no new ideas, basically little more than a " how to hang a dipole" guide.

I was hoping for more detail, I already build antennas and the more info, the better. I felt it was well written.
