4.1 out of 5 stars 153 ratings

It is never a good idea to fall in love with your closest friend. Is it? Find out in this hot friends-to-lovers, butch-femme, celebrity romance. Valentine Jones is the stunning and super talented lead singer of V for Valentine. She is the up and coming superstar in the music industry, famed for her exquisite voice, her presence, and her striking beauty. Inside, Valentine is anxious, struggling with confidence and her new found fame, and being manipulated by the woman she thinks she loves. Valentine's best friend is her lead guitarist who looks at her in a way that feels special. But, her strict rules are no relationships within the band. It would be messy, and never a good idea...... would it? CONTENT WARNING: The first section of this book contains details of a manipulative relationship. I realise this might upset some readers, so please do be aware of this. It wasn't my intention to cause upset, merely to provide hope and a story where Valentine comes through something toxic and gets her happy ever after. Escape to the music world today with V for Valentine and enjoy this hot friends to lovers romance from Emily Hayes. You can count on plenty of sex, drama, cute scenes and a guaranteed HEA.

I like the story. I had trouble with the level of naive that was going on with Val. This is a writer for a rock and roll band and even though we have all fallen for someone who is not good for us, this just felt very in your face. The support from her band mates though showed what truth is. Stone, who is in love with Val, became her protector from her sex crazed and bad tempered girlfriend Lolly, and tried to keep the peace with the rest of the band which Val loved her for. There are feelings there that are under the surface because of her love for Lolly. As the band, V for Valentine is gaining popularity, Lolly is hanging on more to Val, using her powers over her to manipulate her to do things Lolly’s way. Even though the band sees what is going on, without hurting Val, they keep to their beliefs in trying to keep Lolly from sucking the life out of Val and their band. As the story unravels, Lolly’s manipulation of Val and Belle her own band mate , who she is screwing on the side, all starts to come to a head. Ahhh, sweet revenge. If you are an Emily Hayes fan as I am, you will love how this ends and then check out the epilogue Emily always gives at the end of a story.

This is a pretty decent story but not one of her best. Overall . not bad but I had trouble identifying with Val. To jump from one woman to the next so incredibly fast made her seem shallow. Like I said decent but not her best story

Loved how Stone and Belle got Lilly...she was a sociopath for sure. Loved the storyline and the characters and enjoyed this one. I hope there are more books in this series.

Liked the characters, the love quadrangle (is that a word?), and the band rock star angle. One star off, again, author proofreading leaves something to be desired.

Another hot one from Emily Hayes. This book was emotionally heavier than other books by this author. But still manages to end up being a sexy romance with a happily ever after.

V for Valentine is a fantastic book, the main character Valentine is at the the start of the book is so badly treated by her toxic girlfriend Lolly that you want to reach in and throw Lolly out the nearist high storey window!!!.Then she find comfort and true love in the arms of her lead guitarist Stone who shows her how love should be. Needless to say Lolly gets what she deserves in the end. Please read this book know that love wins in the end

Great music group characters and a story that kept me reading. Hard to put down and then it ended. Be nice if there was another book to continue the story.

I didn't enjoy this book, I don't like to read about women being abused and manipulated which to me was the main theme of this book.
