While seriously addicted to coffee, and highly challenged with all things computer-related and technical, she relishes baking, cooking, and trying new recipes for people to sample. She loves to throw dinner parties, and also enjoys traveling, here and abroad, but finds coming home is always the best part of any trip.

4.5 stars Van by Melanie Moreland was such a fun and entertaining read! Please note though it is part of a series (one I adore) it is easily read stand alone. This workplace setting love story between Olivia Rourke and Vince "Van" Morrison kept me engaged and so happy I was able to read uninterpreted on a plane 🛩 flight. There is really for me nothing better than being able to escape into a great read while sitting in the small space that is a coach seat. Olivia is hesitate of her attraction to Van for good reason first they work together but more importantly, she is a single mom. I am going to stop and say this part of the story was so WOW for me! The use of Olivia's daughter, Sammy was so well done. I adored Van... he was such an easy man to love, he is compassionate kind and is very clear in what he wants, he wants Olivia and everything that comes with being with a single mom. The interactions between Sammy who Van nicknamed "Mouse" and Van grabbed ahold of my heart. These scenes highlights such a touching side to his character and well added to my love of him! I mean who doesn't love a man covered in glitter. Van and Moose together took this book to a whole other level, some really heartwarming and touching scenes. The way Olivia's past steps backs into her present and the employees, well really family of BAM pull together to make things right brought the biggest smile to my face! The epilogue oh the epilogue... the happy this family creates for itself is so perfect for THEM!

    Van works for BAM overseeing construction and doing some specialty woodworking, and a musician on the side. Olivia is single mom to Sammy (Mouse) and also works for BAM as a designer. Van has long hoped for a relationship to Liv, but she's skittish, with a few self-esteem issues.

    When Sammy's sperm donor comes back into the picture, they've got a fight on their hands.

    I really loved these two together (3 if you count Sammy). The only thing I thought was odd about the book was the brief appearance early on of Vicky the band stalker. I didn't see that her part of the story added much if any value. Van showed his angry side, he and Liv had some forced distance after that, but Van really never showed any anger after that that wasn't appropriate to the story. I really kind of expected her to come back and be part of the problem later in the book.

    But - hey, it's a GREAT book in a GREAT series and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in adult, contemporary, steamy romance.

    Moreland's heroes are always swoon worthy, but never have I fallen so hard and so fast for the relationship between a hero and his leading lady's child! Van and Liv are amazing in their own right, but it's Van and Sammy who stole the show and captured my heart from the start. Their sweet engagement and instalove made it impossible to resist, and I was all in from that point on.

    Van and Liv have worked closely together at BAM for quite a while, but as it often goes, something changes. The feelings they’ve both been keeping a tight leash on are hard to ignore, especially as Van gets to be a part of both Liv and Sammy's lives. They both have baggage to overcome, but the bigger problem arises when Liv's past crashes into her present, threatening everything she's worked so hard for.

    If you like your heroes the strong, protective type, with the perfect amount of caring and sensitive to balance it out, you’ll easily fall for Van. And Liv is the kind of heroine we all admire, one who is strong and confident and has risen above challenging circumstances to create a great life for herself and her daughter. I loved every minute of their journey to forever, but the icing on the cake is the Epilogue. Moreland hits us with a double whammy, giving us a picture after the HEA and a little farther into the future, and it's so touching and poignant it will melt the rest of your heart! Sweet and touching with a side of steam, this all-around, feel-good read is one you don’t want to miss, and these characters will live in your heart long after the last page.

    Oh how sweet.

    Van has had his eye on Liv for quite some time. But he knows, somewhat, that she has had a difficult life. Single, young daughter, and great at her job. They work very closely together and he finds it more and more difficult to ignore his feelings. He has had a bad experience in the past with a relationship and is hesitant to cross that boundary. Until one day, he just can’t hold back any longer.

    Liv, has had a terrible road when it comes to relationships. First starting with her father, and then other guys from there. All of them put her down, made her feel less than, always critical, and she was done. She had a daughter to raise and she would always come first. That didn’t stop her eyes from wondering though. She liked Van, a lot, but didn’t think she was worthy of him.

    This is so sweet. Love the connection that Val had with Sammy. It was instant and they had such a great relationship. Both Val and Liv had issues they needed to work through and they both learned that they needed each other. Again, love the connection with the BAM guys and how they step in to help. Cute read.

    Tears formed in her eyes, her earlier strength now depleted. She was falling apart in her panic, and I realized I needed to let her. She needed to give in to the fear before she could face it. I pulled her into my arms. “Let it out, Liv. It’s okay.” She began to sob. Her tears bothered me because of the way she cried. Silently, her body shaking so hard from the force of her cries, yet no sound coming out. I have you.” I paused a beat, knowing I had to say it. “I love you.” Her body stilled, and she looked up at me. Her cheeks were wet with tears, the pain and worry etched into her eyes. I wiped away the tears. “I love you,” I repeated, hoping my declaration would give her some strength. “And I’ve got you. We’ll figure this out together—you don’t have to handle this alone. You don’t have to handle anything alone ever again, okay?” She buried her face in my neck, fresh tears pouring down her face. But this time, I heard her cries—quiet and raw, but loud enough for me to hear. She was allowing me to feel her pain. Between her sobs, I heard the words I would hold on to the rest of my life. “I love you too, Van.”

    OMG Van was such an amazing read, I loved everything about it and I definitely could not put it down once I started and ended up reading it in one sitting. 
    Loved the type of man that Van is, he is such an intense, passionate, protective, loyal, trustworthy, romantic and sexy as hell. He is definitely a type of guy that any girl would want as her man. 
    And the way he connected to Mouse was extra special and pulled at my heartstrings. Any man that attaches himself to a child that is not his blood is special in my books.
    This was such an amazing addition to the series and one that you definitely must read.
