About the author
![Elizabeth Bailey](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/S/amzn-author-media-prod/idjse4gl287je1ua9fmsu5rb2q._SY600_.jpg)
Elizabeth Bailey grew up in Africa with unconventional parents, where she loved reading and drama. On returning to England, she developed her career in acting, theatre directing and finally writing.
Elizabeth's latest venture is The Lady Fan Mystery series, published by Sapere Books. The novels feature amateur sleuth Lady Ottilia Fanshawe and a cast of family members including her husband and champion Lord Francis Fanshawe. She originally published Regency romances with Harlequin Mills & Boon and has many titles in her Brides by Chance Regency Adventures series, now also published by Sapere, as well as standalone Regency and Georgian romances.
Elizabeth also writes edgy women's fiction: Her dual time novel Fly The Wild Echoes, which deals with past lives, and For One More Tomorrow, where the ghost of the real Macbeth returns, protesting his villainous portrayal by Shakespeare. And she has published a romantic suspense novella, Silence of a Stranger.
Elizabeth lives in Sussex, England. She is still an inveterate reader with eclectic tastes and she spends her spare time helping other writers improve their craft.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2024This was a fascinating story. I loved the characters. The demise of Clarrissa was so sad. The confusion of Lance was so compelling. I wondered how it would become resolved. Chloe was a sad character. I was glad that she found love.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 10, 2021I enjoyed the book and how the amnesia was described. My only complaint is that the ending seemed rushed. I felt that more time should have been devoted to the development of Lance and Chloe's relationships once his cousin showed up to take him home.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2021Over the years, I have enjoyed reading Elizabeth Bailey's books. She's a storyteller who always satisfied my desire to sit back and provide an escape. But this one, 'Widow in Mistletoe' was especially compelling. As always, you are caught up immediately being sympathetic to the main characters ' adventure or intrigue that captures the imagination and carries you along in order to see how it all turns out. This one swept me up from beginning to end. Put aside your chores and supply yourself with enough chocolate, because you're not going to want to put this boomtown until you have reached the end.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2023I usually enjoy all of this author’s novels. This one contained such a buildup of details in the courting of this couple and it seems the author suddenly decided she didn’t have time for an equally detailed ending. A little disappointing and leaves no incentive to read the next story in the series.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2023Unusual story with the hero’s loss of memory and a lovely independent widow.
And the blurring of a previous love and the new one until resolved.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2021Just a great, intriguing story!!! Many twists and turns. Very few unnecessary sexual comments (although these added nothing to the mystery or the romance as they never do). The best of heroines and the hero … well… I won’t say more. Will move on to Book 8.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 20, 2024Perhaps it’s just me, but I heartily dislike a novel that creates complex multiple characters and then fails to resolve any of their issues satisfactorily. In essence, we are left dangling. Yes they get together, but what happens to his precarious mental state? What about her her relationship with her family and her responsibility for her work staff? How will she be accepted by his family? Several weeks worth of concerning problems got resolved by a more sincerely worded promise of true love and one semi in-depth conversation? I am trying to be rather vague so that I don’t give away any storylines but this was just frustrating to read. It’s as if Ms Bailey got tired of her own writing and just decided to wrap it up with no thought to how that would come across to others. It leaves the reader feeling frustrated and unhappy because indication of how the main characters resolve any of their issues.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2021So promising, kept reading only because I. Thought it might get better, alas the ending was abrupt and flat, won’t look for this author again.

Lovely and different! If (like me) you are a sucker for period romances but are a little tired of stereotypes, try this. You won’t regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars An enthralling adventure of need and bonding between a concussed nobleman and the generous woman who saves him from himself
The author is clearly conversant with the symptoms and challenges of memory loss, in this case pursuant to a serious head injury. I enjoyed every feature of this moving story. Supporting characters come alive as individuals, settings merge seamlessly with the action, the two leading adults bring their singular complexities to the tangle of feelings sparked by forced intimacy, surmounting setbacks and agonizing self-discovery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Avoids sentimentality
Me Bailey maintains her high standards of authencitic Regency mores and life with Widow in Mistletoe, whilst crafting a credible account of a severe brain injury and the consequent amnesia. (Even the personality adjustments and hallucinations are accurate possibilities.) Her heroine is satisfyingly full of character and although the minor characters are a little two-dimensional, this is a very enjoyable read!
