Writing Mr. Right: An Opposites Attract Romance (Boyfriend Chronicles series) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 1,612 ratings

A romance author with a serious case of writer's block.
A plan to find a muse, write the book, then walk away.
But plans are made to be broken.

My name is Molly Brinks, but most people know me as Vivienne Foxx, bestselling author of chance meetings, stolen glances, and the much-needed happily ever after. At the age of twenty-nine-plus-one, I am at the top of my game...professionally.

My personal life is a completely different story, one best left untold. Success has its sacrifices and I've been more than happy to put my search for Prince Charming on the back burner while I create fictitious tales of the naïve virgin, the broken girl with a torrid past, and the strong-willed student finding their own Mr. Right...

Until one hell of a case of writer's block and a tight deadline set by my publisher forces me to go in search of inspiration.

Armed with an account on every dating website out there, I devise a plan. Meet some nice, professional men. Go on a few dates. Hope one of them has the spark I need to finish my book. Then walk away.

But plans are made to be broken. And inspiration can be found in the most unlikely of places.

My name is Molly Brinks, and this is my story about Writing Mr. Right.

Writing Mr. Right is a standalone humorous and heartfelt story about one woman's search to find Mr. Right in a world full of Mr. Wrongs. Pick up your copy of this opposites attract, forbidden romance today!

This is my first book by T.K.Leigh and she did not disappoint! I'm not even sure when I acquired this book because it was buried deep in my Kindle Library. Super glad I read it though. The premise of the story is your typical romance with a touch of real life sprinkled on.
Leigh managed to engage all my senses throughout the story. She has lots of laugher, family drama and love with emotional healing, and sexy romance in a tasteful way. Leigh brings the characters to life in a way that its hard to put the book down.
She captivated me with the role reversal of the main character Molly, a serial dated. Molly's relationship with her older brother is worthy of envy. The siblings go through real life experiences which they work throughout the story with passion, laughter, and a depth that helped me come to terms with My own similar issues. There is plenty of laughter, crying, and passion. I became familiar with all the characters without the predictability of guessing their next move of a Rom Com. She had me falling in love Mr. Right, a very refreshing, humble, and smart character.
Brooklin, her best friend has been with her throughout her life and is her conscious and sounding board. When Molly stops confiding on her you know her feelings for Mr. Right are intensifying I cannot wait to read the story of her best friend and where that may lead her.

Writing Mr Right by TK Leigh
    4.5 stars!!!

    “…real love isn’t real life.”

This was one of those books that caught my attention from the funky cover. I was in desperate need of a pick me up and this one looked like it could do the job, especially once I read the synopsis. For some reason, I am drawn to books about authors, maybe for that chance to glean info or maybe just because I find it fascinating. Anyhow, our heroine is a peddler of smut, and writers block is kicking her a***. Sometimes it is hard to write about something you have little to no experience of, I’m not talking about the smut, our heroine has her means, but the love, the love was severely lacking and something that she frankly did not believe in. With hilarious dialogue and even a few errant tears in this Rom Com I laughed, I swooned and I cried…perfect!

“I felt like a tourist in my own life, each guy I slept with just another site to see in my travels.”

Molly Brinks is a column writer by day, covering all manners of topics, usually of the sexual variety. By night, Molly Brinks turns into Vivienne Foxx, an erotica author that has hit all the lists and is currently under contract for more books of her “filth.” The publishing house only publishes erotica with a happily ever after, something that Molly is finding harder and harder to pen. Her blasé attitude to love being the main bone of contention and her lack of a muse being the other. Really though, her creativity is being stifled by the cookie cutter books that her publisher wants her to put out. It is the same s**t different day scenario. Groundhog Day.

“Even iron can melt if it gets hot enough.”

Dr Noah McAllister is a neurologist, specialising in Alzheimer’s and other brain degenerative diseases. Noah crosses paths with Molly at the nursing home that is currently looking after her Alzheimer riddled father. Being her father’s doctor means that Molly is off-limits, ethics and all that, but friendly chats and chance meetings soon open these two up to those sparks, and boy do these sparks fly. Noah was adorable, seriously adorable. He knew when to push and when to hold back. When others would have run a mile, he stayed and fought. Noah was patient yet persistent, understanding, thoughtful and an all-round good guy. He was incredibly hard not to love. Just everything about him screamed...LOVE ME.

“Why was the one man who made me rethink my opinion on relationships the one man I could never have?”

What I loved about this book was how it all felt natural, organic and real. Real people, real life and real problems. The banter and dialogue between Molly and Noah was on point, it was honest, it was funny, it was swoony. It made me laugh, it made me sigh, it made me cry. Real life situations that unfortunately I have my own experience of and could whole heartedly relate to. And yet, it had morals, many morals to this story and many laid to rest. How life isn’t what it seems and the people closest go above and beyond to protect. The family dynamic in this book was heart-warming. Bonds that could never be broken and a family that would do anything for anyone. The relationship between Molly and her brother was inspiring, I truly felt a part of this family and that is kudos to TK Leigh, she brought these characters to life and for me, are ones that will stay with me permanently. I loved everything about this book and this is an author I will definitely be reading again.

“What if your pages full of reasons we shouldn’t be together are no match for my one reason we should? What if all your reasons, taken as a whole, pale in comparison?”

5 shining beautiful loving stars to this amazingly written piece by T.K. Leigh.
One of the things I love the most about her writing is the fact that she can write EVERYTHING! After reading her latest thriller - Vanished - I wasn't sure she'd be able to write anything that perfect, but now, after reading Writing Mr. Right, I know this woman is getting better and better with every book she writes. Besides the fact that this book is HILARIOUS, it's also very touching. Molly is going through one hell of a ride while dealing with issues from her past. She doesn't believe in true love and doesn't believe in love at all. She just wants to find a muse for the next novel she has to finish writing. But when she finds it in the most unexpected person, everything changes...
I can't tell you more without adding spoilers to this review so I'm just going to sum it up: Writing Mr. Right is not the average rom-com. You know, girl meets boy, they fall in love and find their happily ever after. It has a lot more layers in it, and I found myself crying more than once. It deals with family, love, loss, lust and of course major LOL moments.

This story was something really different. It was a surprise time after time. So was the humor, which there was plenty of as well as sexual conversations.
Molly is funny, irreverent with NO filter to speak of She is also a cynic, who doesn't really believe in love. Her life motto is one that she's not even sure where she picked it up. She learns a painful lesson about that later. She does love her brother Drew, her 2 nieces, her father and her BFF Brooklyn. She was emotional and at times all over the place. Most of the time she was in a place called running.
I will say that more than once the story got to the place where it just seemed to slow down. And I was just ready for it to move on.
There is a H.E.A. with the one man who saw the real Molly and knew most of the time how to handle her. Towards the end I kept thinking, "I wonder how she's going to blow this up." She did in a really hurtful way. Ouch. But they do have a H.E.A. in a totally Molly kind of way.

The story of Molly making peace with love is heartbreaking. She was always loved and is caring and a loyal friend, but being abandoned by her mother made is extremely hard to let love come into her broken heart. Her brother Drew is amazing and I can’t wait to read his story with Brooklin! Please give it to us!!

Excellent, funny, emotional, "can't put it down" story.

Molly is an author of, as she puts it - "mummy porn" who literally uses men as inspiration for her books. She hasn't ever had a real relationship and doesn't want one either. All that she writes about isn't real anyway, "Real love isn't real life". All that said, she can't believe what is happening to her when she meets Noah, the sexy doctor who looks after her father in the nursing home.

A story of a forbidden romance with the added complications of life. A stand alone story which I would highly recommend.

This is a story within a story. Molly the columnist, blogger & erotic novelist writes her stories from her experiences by hooking in a male from the occupation she writes about eg professional, millionaire, politicians etc. There's no commitment or love just sex to write her steamy stories however it all comes undone when she meets Noah, her fathers doctor. There's this mutual forbidden attraction they both want to act on. So there's a bit of angst, heartache & of course a lot of love ❤️ Will Molly give in to her heart?
Molly is sarcastic, witty, not afraid to tell it like it is, has no filter & is just so lovable. Noah was just so hot & adorable.

There's some quite funny moments when she tries speed & online dating esp 'Soulmates' but I won't spoil it for you. The secondary characters are also a good mix.

Overall this is just the type of story I love to sink my teeth into & have a good laugh on the way.

Excellent romance, dealing with some very difficult family issues which serves sensitively handled. Loved the humour in the bookhad me laughing after the first couple of pages. Dropping a star was probably unfair and due to the fact that I wanted to shake Molly for her refusal to admit the gorgeous Noah was right for her. This is why I usually dislike romantic fiction. Molly is so my type of person, I liked her strong personality and her healthy attitude to real romance but not how she put it into practice. skilful writing .
