Zale (The Brotherhood of Ormarr Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 743 ratings

Davis~
It was just another job—at least it was supposed to be—but snaring the feisty blue dragon I’d been contracted to collect and her rider in my trap changed everything. Hunting dragons was my job, and I was damn good at it. I’d never missed a target. Never failed to make a delivery. So why was every step toward turning over my bounty suddenly a struggle? No quarry had ever managed to get under my skin, but something in Zale’s haunting blue eyes called to me like nothing ever had before.

Zale~
When Itsaso and I were kidnapped, we fought like hell but found ourselves at the dragon hunter’s mercy. He locked my dragon away, leaving me to face captivity alone. Now, all I have to rely on is the training that’s been drilled into me every day for as long as I can remember and biding my time, waiting for Davis to make a mistake. Or my brothers to find and rescue us. But something happened the first time I truly looked in Davis’s eyes, dark pools as deep and enchanting as the sea, and I realized I was in so much more danger than I thought. How could a ruthless dragon hunter be my perfect mate?

Zale is the second book in The Brotherhood of Ormarr series. While each book focuses on a different couple, the overall story arc continues in the next installment. For maximum enjoyment, we suggest reading in order. Zale is a m/m romance, and is recommended for adults 18 years and older.

I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the series. The mystery continues, but this romance was great, and had a very happy ending.

This was a good story. I'm now about 85% sure who one of the bad guys is. I'm enjoying that overarching plot and can't wait until it all comes together in the end. I thought this was written pretty well and the story was interesting. I find the whole tattoo dragons pretty neat and I felt bad for Davis to be missing his dragon but still have the tattoo reminder of it. I am wishing for a little more world building. I just keep coming up with new questions all the time, mostly concerning the dragon riders. Maybe some will be answered in the next two books. Can't wait to keep reading!

I didn't realize this was a multi-author series until book three. I liked the universe. I liked that it involved dragons without being shifter or m-preg (not that I'm opposed to either) - it was a fresh take.
None of the books had much heat. IMO it was a fantasy series with a side of lite M/M romance. Still, a fun read. Would read again,

Well written story and well developed characters! Four brothers fighting the bad guys. AZ has found his mate. Zale is lonely, envious, and jealous. Will it ever be his turn?

In book 2 we learn more about the dark wraiths. How they are made as well as their riders, as well as kne surprise. How disinformation is being spread to cause a divide within the various clans to cause a rift.

Davis kidnaps Zale after receiving some of this false information. What he does with the sleeve made my heart ache for Zale and Saso.

Through research (why they didn't fact check to begin with) find out what Davis' clan knows is wrong.

There are several twists and turns. Eeli and Bodhi bond.

Likr the first book, everything was resolved quickly and I wish there would have been a more depth.

I love the Dragons. Harri joins the crowd. The closeness if the brothers.

There were two things in this book that I didn't like. The going caveman line, something that I don't find sexy or romantic. But the line 'typically, bong in the bottom or in a more submissive position wasn't my favourite.' Being the bottom gives one more of the control or it can. It doesn't make one weaker, which is how I tool this line. Which was odd since Zale had shown his strength in both of the books. He does go in to say he feels treasured, still felt that line was unnecessary. Strong men can bottom and be in control. These did play into the rating given.

This book was a ride. I think overall I enjoyed it more than book one but it was very up and down. Like one minute I was totally invested and the next, a little frustrated with how the plot was developing. In some ways that made it a fun ride but it also was a lot to handle. I liked the connection between the two main characters, especially the ending when they were able to bring Harri back, but it felt like it took me awhile to warm up to them and when I did, it was over. Overall, this series is good though.

This is one of my favorite series! I have reread each one multiple times. Zale is minding his business on the beach when BAM, he gets tased and taken to a secure location. Turns out he was taken by his mate. One major misunderstanding later and the two are on a mission to figure out why the Order is targeting the Ormarrs. This was an exciting installment in the series, full of action, sweetness, and an incredible surprise. I tear up everytime I read that part.

I loved how the family feels the same, even though we have a different voice in this book. Zale and Davis were awesome together, and I loved how their meeting tied into the last scene of Az's book. I hope that what we'll see is that the brothers will simply become stronger and more implacably determined to root out the Order and its corruption every time it tries to "take care of them".

Zale and Davis story was amazing.

    Well written and exhilarating.

The plot started in the main book thickened in this one and I can't wait to see where it takes us.

I loved Zale and Davis. They were both fierce and beautiful men. I loved how they got past their beginning and I love the end.

This was a great book that I will happily re-read

This is Zale’s story and the second book in the series. Zale and Davis get off to a rocky start the first time they meet. When Davis realizes Zale is his mate things start to change between the two. As the saying goes: don’t believe everything you hear or see because you’ll be surprised what you find out. Zale and Davis will find out just how true this is, and together they will be unstoppable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it - better than book 1!
Reviewed in Australia on July 4, 2019
What a great read! I enjoyed the first book, but there was just something 'more' to this one. This is the benefit of having different authors contribute to a series - the different writing styles give that variance.

The characters flowed well from the first book, and I loved getting to know Zale better. Davis was a fantastic complementary character to Zale as well. The character depth was there, and after a very rocky start, I loved seeing these two grow closer together, and start to unravel the darkness and betrayal within the Brotherhood.

Can't wait to read more in this series, but I'll also definitely be looking up more books by this author as I loved her writing style too.

Even if book 1 didn't grab you, I would definitely recommend book 2 due to that difference in writing style.

4.0 out of 5 stars The kidnapping meet cute
Reviewed in Canada on June 8, 2019
This book can almost standalone but to understand the world and the close knit family of brothers it is best to read them in order. In this book we get to see the next brother, Zale, meet his mate, but we also get to see much more of this fascinating world of dragon riders!

Zale finds himself kidnapped under charges from another clan of dragon riders. The Ormarr brothers were unaware of any other dragon riders so not only is this surprising but the charges against him are false and concerning. But when the kidnapper, Davis, turns out to be Zale's mate it just makes everything worse.

This time around the uncertainty of the mating made much more sense. After all, Zale and Davis are enemies when they meet. Zale is worried about why his mate would be kidnapping people, and Davis was horrified that his mate would be a murderer (the accusations). Working from there and figuring out the lies that have set them apart makes up the core of the story.

There is a continuation of the story here about the concerns of the core of the Brotherhood of the Ormarr. Something is rotten within and now it is bringing threats to the brothers door. They don't get to find out much more about this but it is clear it will be an ongoing concern until they can find out what it going on and where to move forward.
