    Angel was Jacob's saving grace after his wife divorced him and left him to raise their young traumatized daughters. She has a way redirecting and making things fun when life is too stressful for Lacey and Sadie. I loved the activities she came up with and wished I could join the fun. I couldn't believe how selfish and self-centered Jacob's ex Patty was. She didn't care about her children just how things looked and what she had given up financially. Angel has her own trust issues, afraid to lose her heart and have it broken again, and I can understand why she wouldn't want to get in the way of a family. But precocious Lacey and Sadie and their sexy dad Jacob can't help but find their way into her heart. I laughed when he kept coming home to workout shirtless during the day. And it was so sweet when Angel dressed up to join Sadie at her dance recital because she was too scared to go on alone.

    The beginning of the story felt a little by-the-numbers - so while it was technically decent, the unfolding plot came across superficially, & I wasn't much engaged by it. Happily, it picked up somewhat after the set up was complete & became more its own story.

    It's a little Hallmarky - they're both immediately smitten & then try to talk themselves out of their feelings. Angel is so perfect, & of course, the kids are enamored. She fixes everything & everyone. Things are looking great for them & then... conflict, & Jacob loses his mind. Which actually felt the most real in several respects & kept things from getting too saccharine.

    Frankly, my favorite aspect of this story was the redemption arc for Jacob. He was a self-centered schmuck in the past, but his love for his girls helps him become a better man.

    So basically, it's a good book for when you want a romance that's comfortable & not overly taxing but still uplifting with a reliable happily-ever-after

    *Romance level: passionate kisses, implied intimacy following an engagement, but nothing graphic

    *Language: very minimal; about a half dozen of the common swears

    This is such a good book. I always love reading books with young, sweet children in it. Angel was exactly what her name said. I was so glad she wanted to stay in the small town during the winter where the summer camp was located that she worked at. Jacob’s good friend referred her to him as a nanny. I really wondered why Jacob had stayed with his ex wife so long after I heard how she treated people and later got to know her better. She definitely was not fit to be a parent. I can understand Jacob being lost trying to take care of a preschooler that didn’t want to talk and a six year old who could talk your leg off. Jacob, Sadie, and Lacey’s world was made so much better when Angel came to live with them and take care of them. Angel was determined to never fall in love again after her young husband was killed in the military. Fortunately life doesn’t always go the way we plan. You can’t help but fall in love with these two little girls, want to send Patty the ex wife away forever, and knock Jacob in the head at times! I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.

    I found this enjoyable holiday romance entertaining and heart-warming. Like many men left on their own as single dads, Jacob's life has been up-ended to the extent that he cannot even make breakfast without the fire brigade arriving. Angel's arrival in their household turns everything around as she puts her magic touch to work and brings order out of the chaos. Despite the rules about falling for the nanny, Jacob cannot help but compare Angel's gentle touch and uncomplicated personality, so very different to the manipulative woman he had been married to for so many years. Patty's return to their small town is met by most people with consternation as it wasn't only Jacob's household that suffered under her abuse, but just about every other person in town as well, with very few exceptions. However, the ones that were worst affected are Jacob's sweet little girls who are caught in the middle. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, the attraction between Jacob and Angel, as well as the relationship she developed with Lacey and Sadie. It was also good to catch up with other characters from previous Upper Crust books and to see how their lives were progressing. The novel comes to a happy and joyful conclusion, bringing hope for the future. I received a copy of this romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

    Jacob’s wife has left him with her yoga instructor whom she has been having an affair with. He is trying to care for his two young daughters, run his accounting business, and make sure his girls know they are loved. The marriage hasn’t been a happy one for quite some time as he tried to make her happy but if she isn’t the center of attention, she isn’t happy. After seeing he is burnt out, his friends suggest a nanny and have one in mind for him. Her name is Angel and she totally fits the description. Things settled down in no time and the girls seem to be happy again Angel goes above and beyond to keep the house running smoothly and see that not only does Jacob have some time to himself but also she gets her writing done to meet her deadline. As things settle down, the ex-wife Penny hears about the beautiful live-in nanny and comes back to town and stirs up so much trouble. Will Jacob and Angel have a chance at love?
