An Alec Winters Series Complete, Books 1-4: A Supernatural Suspense series Kindle Edition

4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 119 ratings

A hard-core depiction of good vs evil! If you cannot handle dark, graphic fiction, this is NOT the book for you.

According to reviews, about 75% of readers will appreciate this supernatural thriller, dark urban fantasy series, 15% will just be OK with it, and the remaining 10% will hate it. That's all right. It
is a graphic and controversial tale of transformation into angel and demon where Alec Winters roams the gritty streets of New Orleans to protect its innocent victims and brutally destroys the wicked people who hurt them. It's bloody, and yet, it's also a story of friendship, family, and love.

Fans of the movie, Death Wish and The Equalizer, and the television series, Dexter, Supernatural, and Constantine, will enjoy this series.

Some see Alec Winters as a breath-taking angel of light. Others see him as the most terrifying, mind-blowing demon they could ever imagine.

5-Stars "The plot is original, moves at a fast paced, with graphic details, and raw emotions. At times the story is very dark, and violent, as Alec is a (bit of) a crusader for justice. With self discovery, danger, friendship and love, I was pulled into the story and not able to let go until the very end. Chariss Walker knows how to grab your attention and not let go. I highly recommend to those who love a great (dark) fantasy. This book is for adult readers as it has graphic content not suitable for young readers."

Vigilante or Serial Killer?
An Alec Winters Complete is a box set of the series and includes the following books: • Prelude, Book 1 • Crescent City, Book 2 • Port City, Book 3 • Harbor City, Book 4

Author's Warning: Includes emotional triggers of every kind. Alec Winters brutally murders criminals - rapists, murderers, sex traffickers, pedophiles, and abusers of all kinds - in order to protect their innocent victims. This emotionally charged, dark fiction story - deals with elements of fear, death, and the darkest side of life. However, the situations depicted are so real, so violent, that this series is Not recommended for the faint-hearted or those under the age of 17.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Dark, gritty and addictive - 5 Stars - Although gritty and at points stomach churning with detail, Chariss Walker had written an intensely addictive read that shows someones devil is someone else's angel. This is the second time I have read this book and it is was so much better than I remembered. Chariss Walker really knows how to make her characters jump off the pages

First and foremost, Chariss K. Walker is a storyteller. She tells her readers and listeners a story as if they were sitting around a blazing campfire or at the kitchen table. She tells a story in words that anyone with any level of education can understand.

From light and airy to dark and emotionally intense, Chariss K. Walker, M.Msc., Reiki Master/Teacher, writes both fiction and nonfiction books that captivate and excite her readers. In her own words, Chariss says, "I write for those who search for the mystical in the world. I write to inspire, inform, and delight. I write for you!"

Those who search for meaning and the supernatural in themselves will enjoy her books whether readers of fiction or nonfiction. Her fiction expresses a visionary/metaphysical message that illustrates growth in a character's consciousness while utilizing a paranormal aspect. Her nonfiction books share insight, hope, and inspiration.

Although Chariss writes some dark-fiction books about insanely dark topics that are not suitable for faint-hearted readers, there is always an essential question of the abstract nature that gives a reader increased awareness and perception. She also writes cozy mysteries and inspirational women's studies fiction.

All of her books are sold worldwide in eBook, paperback, and many are in large print. Click the "follow" button to find out when new books are released. Get a free eBook when you subscribe to her monthly newsletter:

An avenging angel to the rescue!

An avenging angel to the rescue!
This is the story of Alec--at 17 he witnesses his father doing the unspeakable to his sister--his inner powers come out--he will either appear as an Angel to those in need or the worst kind of avenging devil to those who would do horrible things to others! I did read all these books--they can get dark at parts but I had to keep on reading.

An Alec Winters Series Complete, Books 1-4 by Chariss K. Walker

The complete Alec winters series with all four books. Alec is a unique individual. He is an Angel with special abilities, some good and some bad. The stories center around Alec, his family, friends and life. He is a bit of a vigilante fighting for what is right, and destroying the evil among them.

The plot is original, moves at a fast paced, with graphic details, and raw emotions. This book is for adult readers as it has graphic content not suitable for young readers.

It was so nice to see good prevail. I know God is in charge of revenge but this read like it was approved by God and who among us doesn’t want evil punished? I enjoyed it!

But after a while it became redundant. A lot of copy and pasting going on too of the same things that happened in the previous books. Even some double pasted in the same spot. It really detracted from reading the story. The ending veered off too and wasn't very satisfying. Instead it turned into a bit of a sex fest in which didn't fit at all. It's a shame because it was a great premise and some parts of the story were very good. I think this would have made a better 350 page novel. My husband read it too though and did like it better than I did

The story idea was good but badly done. I really wanted to like it but could not finish. Dialogue and prose repeated throughout the book. The characters were cardboard they all could have been the same person just doing different things. They characters vocabulary was so unrealistic that it was uncomfortable. There was a lot of telling when there should have been showing and often there were details thrown in that kinda didn’t need to be there. I soo wanted to like this and even gave it longer than I would give books that I’m not fond of but ultimately I just had to stop. That being said, if a serious rewrite was done, I’d give this author and series another chance.

Great premise but I didn’t enjoy the characters themselves , how they talked, and found they lacked depth. It was also too much like a romance novel for me .
