As the owner of the world's largest professional wrestling establishment, Lucille Boots doesn't have time for dating. She's too busy keeping her wrestlers happy, getting choke-slammed on national television, and spending time with her college-aged daughter to worry about something as tedious as romance.
When her ex-husband sets out to recapture the empire he helped build, Lucille's life goes from hectic to haywire. The only bright spot she can see is with the ultimate off-limits option: a professional wrestler. Will she break her own rules for love, or will it be business as usual?

Praise for Run Away Baby:
I thought Run Away Baby was an amazing book, it captured my attention immediately. I felt I was sitting in front of any of my clients over the years hearing her story. Holly Tierney-Bedord captured the true nature of power and control brilliantly. She showed that it doesn't just happen to poor or disabled women. Most importantly, she showed how easy it is to want to ignore your intuition when someone offers you away out, often leading women into another abusive relationship. She has a fan! Can't wait to read the rest of her books.

Domestic Violence Coalition, Inc.
In a life of abuse and isolation, escape can seem impossible. In Run Away Baby, Abby finds her hero in a most unexpected place...the mirror.
-- Tracey Osborne, Daring Woman ~ daringwomaninc.com
(In Run Away Baby, Holly Tierney-Bedord)..."illustrated well how domestic abuse (physical, mental and emotional) cuts across all economic classes and how truly challenging it is for these women to escape their abuser."
-- Jane, JLWOS
This book was unpredictable. ...This was a great thriller and a very fast-paced read. The premise of the book was fascinating. I would recommend it!
-- Elizabeth of Chick Lit Chickadees
I have to congratulate Holly for being brave enough to cover the theme of domestic violence within this story.Holly has portrayed a very realistic relationship between the characters with compassion and accuracy.
This is one of those books that I am praying becomes a movie because I would definitely go to watch it. Abby is a likeable and I felt invested in her from the very beginning. Although she is a trophy wife, she remains genuine and humble throughout.
Although the scene of violence made me uncomfortable, the reader instantly becomes aware of the need for Abby to be away from the situation. Holly has done a superb job of integrating this scene delicately but also in a way that makes it realistic.

Praise for Surviving Valencia:
"Just as you settle into the quiet, wrenching character study, you bank sharply into your first twist, then a turn - as secrets from the past zoom into suspenseful danger in the present. The twists keep turning until the very last chapter, making the read both satisfying and chilling! I cannot recommend Surviving Valencia highly enough."
--Geralyn Corcillo, author of Queen of the Universe
"At first I thought the book was a bit strange, but I soon began to fall in love with this young girl. ...It was a very well written story and was a very good read."
--Stormi of Boundless Book Reviews
"...I didn't want to put it down."
--RebeccaBookReview
"...I am so glad I discovered this book."

- Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2016Dimitri is new to the country and wants to be part of the wrestling community. Lucille runs an agency. She doesn't like him at the beginning but he is smitten. She thinks he is a lot younger than he actually is. He ends up signing with Lucille's ex husband. The emotions in this story are up and down between all the characters. Love this story and glad that the nice person won.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2016To call this a “Wrestling Romance” is really a misnomer. This is straight up women’s fiction with a light clean romance; nothing wrong with it. I found it to be very cute. I say this because I know the title may turn some off; they may not want to read a book about wrestling.
The story revolves around Lucille who owns a large wrestling organization; think WWE. Lucile is 45, divorced, and just existing. Things start to change for her when she meets Demetri, and at the same time, her ex-husband decides to rebuild his old Wrestling Empire. Lucile’s life starts to change and change in big ways.
I know what you’re thinking. It sounds like it has to do with wrestling. Wrestling is the background or framework to the story; not the story. Boots on the Ground is clean, sometimes cheesy, sometimes funny, sweet romance that is worth the time. At 117 pages it really takes no time at all. It really is a quick cute read....Sara
- Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2016Boots on the Ground is a sassy contemporary romance about a divorced woman who is on top of the T.V. wrestling empire.
Lucille runs the most successful (and only) professional wresting T.V. show. When her ex-husband starts another wrestling show and steals Lucille's new star, she's angry. She's scared she's going to lose her empire with the competition he's bringing. To make matter worse, Lucille's attracted to the star that got away. Dimitri is way too young for her, but she can't seem to fight off his advances.
With her most loyal employees, Lucille sets out to save her company from impending doom and finds the man of her dreams while doing it.
Boots on the Ground is filled with witty dialog and a very funny male lead. I enjoyed the irritation Lucille felt at first toward Dimitri. Watching her fall for him was a lot of fun. I also really liked watching her get the best of her ex-husband. With it's over the top sass, Boots on the Ground makes for a quick, fun read about an older woman falling in love again.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2016I picked up this book because I wanted something different from my normal fare - mysteries and thrillers- and it was a great and pleasant surprise.
Fun characters, plot kept me interested,I read it in one evening.
I have a personal policy of not regurgitating storylines or leaving spoilers, so do yourself a favor and read the book :-)
- Reviewed in the United States on July 24, 2016Welcome to the world of wrestling. What's an almost forty-five year old woman the owner of a wrestling corporation to do when she falls for her new star wrestler who's thirty-six? Plus having to deal with an ex-husband, his new wife and baby and trying to keep her relationship with her daughter on an even keel. Funny and "entertaining" in more ways than one.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2017Fun novella with actual Wrestling in it (which makes the titel even cooler!), romance of course but lots of other stuff too. I absolutely enjoyed reading it but thought the end a bit abrupt and not quite satisfying. But I'd like to know how they fare with their Wrestling business.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2016I know, I thought it too. Wrestling. And chick lit. What? Actually, maybe we had different thoughts-I got very excited when I heard about this book, mainly because when I was young myself and my brother used to watch World Wrestling Federation (WWF) every Saturday morning and try out some of the moves on each other(where were our parents?!) and I haven’t had many dealings with wrestling since (I watched it once with the kids and then steered them away from it as they were too young to not try EVER move out on each other, including those that involved, chairs, dustbin lids … you get the idea!) But I digress.
This book is a very enjoyable novella that centers around Lucille Boots, the tough, kick ass owner of ‘Boots Brigade’ a professional wrestling establishment. In it we get to see her as she clamours to maintain her reputation and empire while fighting her ex-husband, who is trying to regain his seat to the thrown. I enjoyed hearing some of the behind the scenes wrestling talk and loved their brain storming and studying of some of the oppostition’s moves and ideas.
There was a lot about this novella that was over the top, not least the characters, but I can only guess that that was due to the dramatic arena that wrestling inhabits. I liked Lucille and enjoyed her daughter acting as her confidant and, when necessary, admonishing her as a parent would their child. The romance was brilliant, thanks mainly due to the simplicity of the character that delivered his thoughts on romance (no spoilers so I will say no more!) and the comedy was mainly delivered by said character too (oh how I laughed!). Needless to say I loved him. Loved, loved, loved! All in all a very quick, satisfying read which I enjoyed immensely. It obviously won’t suit everyone but I definitely recommend it for people who think it might be their ‘bag.’ Thanks so much to the author for this book in return for an honest review.
