“I’ve never read a romance like this. Ever. I didn’t want it to end.” –USA Today bestselling author J. Saman
Meet Anna Flint.
Anna loves numbers. She loves order and cleanliness. She loves her high-powered career as a computer programmer—a job at which she excels. She loves almost everything about her perfectly structured life of solitude.
But she’s never been in love.
Then Anna meets Matt Harper. Matt is a perfectly normal man, who can’t understand why Anna collects stacks of tin cans in her cubicle at work or why she washes her hands every fifteen minutes… and he doesn’t care. All he wants is to get to know Anna better. And for the first time in Anna’s life, she feels the same way.
Except Matt isn’t as perfectly normal as he seems. It turns out Matt has a secret of his own. A secret that changes everything…

- Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseFrom the first page of this book, I realized there was a smile on my face. It stayed there throughout the entire book and even after the last word. This is such a sweet, beautiful, uplifting book! It unequivocally gets my vote for the best book I’ve read this year (and I’ve read over 500)!! That’s a bold statement that I’ve been hesitant to make about any book, but it's as if I’ve been waiting for. Just. This. Book. If you read a lot, drop whatever you’re reading to read this book now! If you read only one book this year, make it this one. If you don't read at all, turn over a new leaf and read this book. You will be missing out on something truly special and phenomenal if you don’t. Trust me, you'll be so glad you chose to read it!
Anna and Matt are both such beautiful messes in their own ways. Anna is a beautiful and intelligent young lady, but also an undiagnosed Obsessive Compulsive, complete with germ phobias and rituals and her collection of cans. They’re just regular canned goods from the grocery store, not even decorative tins, but it's kind of her thing. (She gets enough judgement from the people in her life, so please be kind.) There’s just something so precious and endearing about her character that I couldn’t help but love her, and even more so because of her vast flaws. Matt is another character I just wanted to wrap up in my arms. He’s strong, young and handsome, but also kind hearted. He and Anna work together and Matt has had a thing for her since the beginning, in spite of everyone referring to her as “Crazy Anna.”
The thing is, Anna has so many issues due to her OCD that it’s a real challenge to get close to her. She doesn’t eat at restaurants, or go to others’ homes, or allow people in her home, so how exactly can a guy date her? Then there’s the fact that Matt's body is slowly, insidiously betraying him, leaving him thinking he doesn’t have much to offer any woman, especially someone as special as Anna. Regardless of all the roadblocks and reasons not to, these two forge a friendship that grows into more, and their journey is so fresh, emotional and heartwarming to watch.
The advance copy I read of this book is my first by this author, and I feel very blessed to have found her! She has a gift for not only crafting a superb story that fully immerses the reader as a participant, but leaves the reader better for having read the work. If you’ve ever been discouraged about love or soulmates, or even the lack of humanity we often see in our world today, this book will remind you that there’s someone out there for everyone, that love is worth whatever we have to go through to attain it, and that goodness always wins.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really enjoyed Crazy In Love. It did a fantastic job of explaining and chronicalling mental illness and other debilitating disease. It is unfortunate when your body fails you, especially at a young age. As someone that can relate, it is a hard pill to swallow. These characters deal with it in a very realistic manner. In addition, both are flawed and seek to redeem themselves. I like the author showed a realistic timeframe to allow characters to grow through their illness as individuals and also together. Nothing was rushed until the end. I did find once they actually got close the book hurried up and summarized for a quick ending, which is why I took off a star. I was looking forward to some intimate details of their challenges together and I only got a kiss. Not gonna lie, I was disappointed for the time investment I put into the characters and book. This is a very clean novel as far as sexy stuff, but there is some foul language. There were many funny parts that were natural and enjoyable. Overall I enjoyed the book, just felt the ending was rushed. However it is a complete novel with a HEA. Recommend.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2017Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI just read one of the best books last night Crazy in Love by Annabelle Costa. I started reading yesterday evening then around 11 pm I told myself to go to bed. At midnight I tried to put the book away. Didn’t happen. Finally, I just said to myself forget it; I'm going to read until the end. It was worth it.
Crazy in Love is a different kind of love story, very touching and beautifully written.
Anna Flint is (as I picture her) a female version of Melvin Udal (Jack Nicholson in As Good As It Gets) on steroids. Her co-workers tease her unmercifully and everyone calls her Crazy Anna. She doesn’t have any friends, and, truthfully, she likes the aloneness.
I love Anna. She is attractive, brilliant, and the most talented programmer at her company and she is weird. She can't be touched. She has to clean her cubicle with Lysol many times during the day, and she collects cans. (Can you imagine cans stacked in the cube of a co-worker?) When Anna is anxious, she taps in a pattern on her desk or the cans 11 times or multiples of 11 until she is calm. (There are more quirks to Anna a lot more.)
Matt Harper, her cubicle neighbor, is the only person who is kind to Anna, including her family. Matt is the hot nerd. He cruises for women at bars with his friend then rates the women and only dates a 7 or higher. Well, he doesn't really date the women he has one night stands. Then he is diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis and begins to lose the ability to walk. It changes his life.
The imagery this novel brings to mind is moving. The characters are multi-layered and reveal new aspects to their personalities and struggles on each page.
Crazy in Love takes place over five years as a friendship grows and Matt’s MS progresses. It is a story of two people who don't fit anywhere, but in between the crazy, they find a way to help each other overcome a multitude of hurdles and become true friends.
I am completely in awe of Ms. Costa. Her research is extensive, and the characters are some of the best creations ever. They jump off the page and into my heart. The story touched me from the first page, and my heart grew ten times by the end. I couldn’t stop reading. I couldn’t skim even a paragraph because I didn’t want to miss any details. There are times when I felt sad and times when I felt happy and the end is beautifully satisfying. It is an emotional and lovely experience that I won’t forget any time soon.
Crazy in Love is one of my favorite books of 2017; I'll read it again whenever I need a lift. Now I can’t wait to read more by Annabelle Costa. You must get it ASAP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best read in years
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book made me laugh. Out loud. It almost made me cry. It made me hold my breath. I never wanted it to end. There are very very few books that do this to me. I don't think there's anything else to say other than read this book. You would be crazy not to.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute book
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe story isn't what you expect from the blub, spoilers alert, it's kind of heartbreaking sometimes. While I did appreciate seeing them trying to get over their problems on their own,I would have liked if we have seen them more together and also how each one helped the other.
Overall I enjoyed reading it and I would recommend it for sure.

5.0 out of 5 stars The characters remain imprinted in the mind
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI read this book a couple of months ago and yet, I'm able to vividly recall the emotions this book took me through. Matt and Anna are characters that will remain long after the last page of the book has been read. The highs and lows they experience in this story are relatable and moving.
