If you like a truly evil villain, non-top thrills and an amazing death trap, this is the book for you. It's intense, especially since Ms. Peterson makes us care about each character--even the bad guys. Great follow-up to the first two in the series.

The story was not really complicated enough to have me unable to out it down. But just enough to make good reading. This was a story that incorporated several different law enforcement agencies and had several different side tracks. A nice detective story.

I usually really like the characters in this series, but I was a little disappointed in this book. It's hard to accept that one man could make such fools out of several police departments. The end of the book was pretty good, but the beginning was slow to read.

Best read in order, then you know the characters, finish’s up some of the loose ends. Hess went to prison once, saying not guilty, breaks out, wanting revenge. Everything Val loves he wants to destroy . They work together will anything stop him and the havoc he is causing. Good series

Chief Val cannot make a move without running into traps and the murders of those close to her heart, by a psychopath she mistakenly convicted a few years previous. And he wants her to watch as her niece dies by his hand. An unforgettable thriller.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of action & twists
Reviewed in Canada on July 25, 2016
I really liked this book. It kept my interested, lots of action, kept me guessing. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that I personally like a little bit of happiness in a book and there were still some things I did not find closure with in this book. Also there was the odd error in the text, but not as bad as many Kindle editions.
I have a feeling the ending is leaving options open for the series to continue.
