Can a fish tank, a pug puppy, and a ten-year-old rescue love?

Betty never expects a pug puppy, a small child, and a fishy disaster to put the dental assistant out of action right when it’s her niece’s turn for an appointment. It prompts her to volunteer her services for the afternoon. She just doesn’t expect to be working for … him!

Benson can’t believe it when the woman he hurt all those years ago walks through the door. When she sees him, she seems determined to leave, but he convinces her to stay and assist for the afternoon.

But as they begin to mend their shattered relationship, it becomes clear that someone else is not happy about it. Will Betty let down her guard? Will Benson convince her to give him another chance? Or will some determined meddling cause them to part ways?

This was my favorite in the series so far. Great characters and good clean fun. It was good to see also that people really can change for the better!

Benson and Betty meet for the second time in their lives on a very hectic day. She was there to take her niece to the dentist for her sister. While at the dentists office many things went wrong. So much so that Betty volunteered to take the place of the dental nurse. That's when their worlds collided again. From there it is a wild romp with all types of intrigue. I highly recommend this funny, touching story.

The first part of the book is a comedy of errors, whatever could go wrong did go wrong which got Betty/Liz to meet Benson -or meet again. He had completely broken her heart years before when he had been careless with her love and immature and had regretted it ever since. She ended up working for him as his assistant when his own had a freak accident and broke her ankle. Then there is Andrea, the extremely organized, and competent office manner who also interferes, and relentlessly bosses him around and is super rude to him. Then her interfering goes too far and she is caught by her daughter and made to pay the consequences. There are 3 relationships that need working on in this book and let’s just say things get resolved nicely.
This is set in Boston but some of the terminology sounds very British. It’s a little shallow and light hearted but an amusing short read.

Enjoyed the interplay between characters. The bad guy (fyi a girl) was redeemable. The main characters presented a united front and there were loads of HEAs.

This is an enjoyable read you'll be glad you added to your reading list. The characters are engaging and have definite sparks between them. The story flows smoothly throughout the pages, pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages as you follow their journey to love. Highly, highly recommend.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Why do some people change their names? We're not given a good enough reason for why Betty changed her name from Liz. They're completely different names. I know that as some people get older, they move from a nickname or a shortened form of their name to their original full name: Jimmy or Jim to James; Kathy or Katie to Katherine; and the list is endless. But Liz to Betty just doesn't make sense to me.

It is a nice book. I enjoyed the story from the start, but somehow the middle disappointed a little. I think it jumps from the struggle in relationship to easily accept each other and from not trusting the man to be happily ever afer.

This is a fun story about second chances. This was my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more. This is a sweet, clean romance.
