I read about 100 books a year and it has been a while since I was so touched by a book (series).
I started with Book 1 bought in 7-pack. It was very original, but I was still hesitating whether I would like to read more. Then Chasing Spirits - very nice book, but still it didn't kick in. But eventually I started to read Book 2 and I was immediately sucked in. After finishing I was left begging for more and I already started think a lot about possible continuation and potential outcomes.
All the books (Book1-3, Chasing spirits, At last goodbye) form a fantastic series, a single book read will be nice, but may disappoint you. The power is in how all those books wind and meander together.
It is a fantastic read - sometimes very serious, sometimes very touching. I love the author's style and word selection. Ah, you just have to read it!

After reading the entire series now I wish it had been longer.
But it is perhaps also one of the strengths of the books that you feel you want to read more in the series.
Considering how the book ended , maybe there will be a continuation and there is also space to write a book about how it all began.
Thanks for a great series and jumping straight to the Arisen...

Seriously so good, I read through it and was like, crap it's done? So well written, loved every moment and could not put it down. Am really engrossed in this series. The writer in my humble opinion, does a great job of separating the characters so it really feels like different people 's personalities are present. Sometimes writers make the mistake of making all their characters sound like the main protagonist and you aren't able to relate individually to any one person in the story.

Diary of the Displaced - Book 3 - The Ways once again Glynn James brings us to new worlds introduces new characters and leaves us in strange places. I think I read this book in a single 4 or 5 hours sitting. Fast paced, intriguing, and never dull. This book drags us threw world after world till it reaches its climax. A final battle, good versus evil. What will be the outcome and dose it end here? Buy the book and find out, well worth the read.

Excellent book. This book keeps your interest thru the whole book. It is a great book for people that have a big imagination and gets caught up in the story and hope it never ends. It is exciting and I loved it. As matter of fact, all three books were so good. Can't hardly wait until the next book comes out.

I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm a big fan of Glynn James. I bought and read the first part of DOTD a little over a year ago and I was really impressed. The story just hooked me and the world is just ....strange but in a really good way. It's original and not a carbon copy of a world you've seen before. It's weird like China Meiville /Lovecraft weird but again, not like anything you've 'seen' in their books. Most of all sympathetic characters...i can't put my finger on it. There is no emotional manipulation to get empathy...but you really feel for these characters and the bad guys are genuinely scary. I just buy everything Glynn James writes as it's just solid enjoyment.

I'm so excited that this book is finally out that I went back and re-read the first two before devouring this one! I wanted to refresh my memory so I didn't overlook any details in this third installment of author Glynn James 'Diary of the Displaced'. He packs a lot into everything he writes - a lot of action and a lot of details. Our main character is still James Halldon (thank goodness!) and I stil love him. Dogthing (my favorite!) is with him, and Rudy and Adler are still around. It starts with James in the damn Corridor again, injured and weaponless- except for Cutterjack's longblade stuck in James' chest- and takes off at a full speed ahead run from there. Lots of issues are resolved and questions answered, but major new issues are raised in this book. I will be waiting as patiently as I can for Book 4, and try not badger Mr. James to write faster.

I bought the first Displaced book in the box set with other novels. There were several that I considered quite good and thought about ordering more in the series, but Displaced was the one I actually bought the rest of. I was thoroughly entertained and completely absorbed in it. Can't wait for more.....I have to know if Eleanot finds her parents and grandparents!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great

I would have liked to give this 4 1/2 stars but cant, it doesnt deserve as little as 3 so it gets 5.
I felt it started off a bit slow, but certainly picks up after the first few days. By the end it had me wanting more, as is usual with Glynns books.
A few old charactors were not introduced well (i.e. the ghost brothers) and I would have liked a bit more conversation when they met, it seemed to sudden.

Im finding the way Glynn has his books for sale a little confusing. I keep checking what i already have on my Kindle to make sure i have not missed anything. Believe me its worth checking you have them all, nothing here should be missed. I also very much enjoy reading other protagonists adventures in Glyyns world. Glynn has a knack of keeping the reader inthralled about what is going on inside and outside his main story line.

It hard to put his books into one category, they are a mix of 'steam punk', scifi and horror all cleverly mixed into one. I waited a long time for this book and was not disapointed. Hurry up with the next one... please.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 24, 2013
Fantastic book for anyone who has already read the Diary of the Displaced, books 1 and 2. This story picks up with James yet again finding himself in the coridoor, this time trying to find his family and also kill Cutterjack once and for all. The story continues to be fast paced through various worlds, with imagery that although not complex leaves you with enough for your imagination to fill in the gaps. This book at last sees a conclusion to James adventure, yet leaves the reader wanting more, as his granddaughter will now be able to take the adventure further. This book has a variety of charactesr you will feel mixed emotions for, all with their own tales to tell, no doubt their stories will be told by the author at some point in a future book. Overall a complex page turner that has definately left me wanting to know more about the worlds and creatures I have been shown through this series of books.
