Dragon Storm (The Dragonwalker Book 5) Kindle Edition
A war long thought over has returned, and this time the empire is not equipped to survive. Still, the dragons are safe, living in the heart of the forest near an ancient Deshazl settlement. Though hidden from the Damhur who would control them, Fes feels they deserve more and longs to see them fly free again.
When another attack leaves the empire weakened, Fes and a few friends search for allies. Finding those allies is key, but who can they trust? With the most recent attack, the likelihood of defeat looms close, and without help, they will certainly fail.
Worse, not all is as it seems. The war that has raged for centuries has left a far more lasting effect than any have ever known. The empire must be secured, and only then can Fes take the next step in ending the war—this time for good. But if he can’t protect the dragons, how can he defend against the Damhur?

- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseExcellent series and this book greatly develops the characters and story line. All the books by this author are well worth reading. There are a lot of similar themes in the way he develops characters, introduces new magic along the way, and they all have excellent plots which keep you engrossed all the way through each book. Can't recommend his work enough so if you love magic and dragons and want to go on a wild adventure just go buy his books.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 24, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis series is very creative and the development of the characters is well done. The rare curse words used takes away from the other worldliness of the story and puts an American flavor that does not taste very good. Overall the series is entertaining.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI am thoroughly enjoying this series. This story is very good. Mr. Holmberg has describe things so thoroughly that I can see everything just as if it was on the TV screen. I’m off to the next book now. Get into the series, you won’t regret it 🙂
- Reviewed in the United States on April 5, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseOn to book 6!
This series is worthy of readers from 12 to 112, I am looking forward to the author's future endeavors.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2021Format: Audible AudiobookVerified PurchaseI have read other D.K. Holmberg books (audible as well) and enjoyed them. I have him as a favorite author to suggest new reading as published. I started this series as an audible selection while on my deer stand. The book does not ring true to the earlier works I have read and listened to, as the main character seems to ask all questions in an "irritated" tone as well answer questions to himself a lot. There is too much repetition of certain words and "tasks" that are being carried out by the character. The book was not up to the caliber of other books, however, I was interested enough to pursue the rest of the books so far and am currently on book 6.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe only words I need to say are,”If you see a book by D.K. Holmberg buy it!” You won’t be disappointed, unless you value sleeping instead of staying up into the morning hours losing yourself in his well crafted tales!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI loved this series. While sometimes unsure of what Fez was doing, he finally begins to learn his potential. I feel he still has room to grow and much adventure to take part in. I can't wait for the next book. I have always loved dragons.

5.0 out of 5 stars The series gets better and better
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseFollowing the story from the beginning has been a real pleasure. The tale has evolved, and gone in amazing directions, with the reader carried along in awe. Sadly only one more book in the series, but am eager to see if it surpasses the rest that led up to it. Here I go, back into the wonderful world as created by this skilled author. Truly brilliant.

4.0 out of 5 stars Slow start
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI have been enjoying this series and looked forward to reading this latest instalment. However I found the first 40% of the book meandering around going nowhere . Once things got going I read avidly.
