Writing is a labor of love for Linda Bridey, whose works are consistently on several top 100 best-selling romance book lists. Since starting her writing career in earnest, Linda has written thirty-seven books and counting, which have gained great popularity. Readers are drawn to her vivid writing of mail-order bride and historical romance stories, many of which deal with social issues, and always include humor and heart.
Her Westward series, which includes twenty-three books, is set in Dawson, Montana. When the series ended, her readers wanted more of the characters they'd come to know and love--so much so that it prompted her to create the Dawson Chronicles, which picks up the stories of many of the descendants of the original characters, but can also be read as a stand-alone series.
Linda's Echo Canyon series, tells the story of a small Montana town on the verge of extinction after the collapse of the mining industry in the region. It shows the ingenuity of the Echo's inhabitants in how they come together to save the town they love. All is not always as it seems in Echo with mystery, suspense, and romance abound!

- Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2016This series is downright addictive. I thought I'd read one, then maybe two, but the people in each book go on over into the next book!
You never lose the first characters, even though each book is mainly about one couple. There are some great characters and a lot of fun and of course some tribulations. My favorite books always have a good mixture of all these things.
I've read westerns for over 40 years. ( Yes, Louis L'Amour)
Linda Bridey has delt with many bias-type issues. Part Indian, deaf, Irish (I'm 34% Irish!), Black (Linda may have used the term dark-skinned in her books), widows and widowers, a sherriff, and more blend well together. I just would like moreh towns were like that. Maybe that's because I'd like to live there, too.....just with running water, electricity and a few other comforts.
If the western genre is a favorite of yours, I feel certain you'll come to know & enjoy the characters in Linda's books.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2015This is a story where you cannot simply single out one or two couples. It involves so many characters and so much joy and happiness but it has a goodly amount of sorrow for some of the people. One thing that stands out for me is when the new preacher who is a young woman of twenty one is excepted by the town council feels the darkness and sorrow inside of Marvin and ask to pray for him. She realizes he does not believe in God but she prays for him and tells him he will receive something and he will know it is from God and he is forgiven. This was a wonderful book and I highly recommend it to all.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 201545. Linda Bridey does it again with this mail-order bride tale. This time she brings together a famous bounty hunter named Thad McIntyre and a widow named Jessie Alderman. In addition to these two main characters we have a great cast of sub characters with the children they both bring to their union. The plot line helps to build mystery as all of the characters come to terms with casting a new life together. However, events from their past causes chaos to their new world. To find out what happens, you have to read this tale. As always in Bridey’s stories, the role of the sub characters is twofold. They add to the rising plot action and forge an interest in each one; thereby creating a segway to their own story.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2015Absolutely wonderful characters, story and just the right amount of angst! This author has a knack for creating towns you want to move to, townsfolk you fall in love with and sometimes love to hate but then learn to tolerate even come to love. Leah and Lucky's story is a beautifully written account of finding love when you didn't ever think you could. Strong values, personalitites and feelings, this series is just endearing. If you loved the authors Westward series then this series is for you! Anxiously awaiting the next book!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2022There is so much I could say about this series, but you need to read it for yourself... you will laugh, cry, get angry, broken hearted, all throughout... definitely a must read! The author is absolutely amazing, the way she names you feel as if you were right there beside the characters....
- Reviewed in the United States on March 13, 2019Great continuation stories of the people in Echo Canyon. They can be read alone but are better if read in order. This is a great series and keeps you interested. I had a hard time putting the book down. Thanks for more great reads Linda. I am looking forward to reading more of this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2015I love the way that Linda Bridey writes & how her stories unfold...Montana Luck was especially lovely, in that the bride was deaf. I love that this story shows that just because someone is deaf, it doesn't mean that that person is stupid or incapable of having a "normal" life. I also love how all of the bride stories intertwine with each other. The characters that you fall in love with in one book, their lives continue in the next book. For me, that's perfect...I always want to know what happens next in the life of the characters that I love!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND all of Linda Bridey's books...the Montana series & the Westward series. All of them are as always...WONDERFUL!!!! :)

1.0 out of 5 stars It is a sequel and now is stretching the bounds of belief
In the time of American Bounty Hunters and Native Americans forced into Reservations. We have a "Black" mayor, Chinese vet married to a "white" doctor. A Native American brought up by white parents and married to a "white" girl brought up Native Americans. An Irish immigrant with a half Native American child marrying a deaf cobbler and "pure" evil finding "good". Need I say more and all in one town.
