Konrath has become my favorite author. I don't usually read consecutive books in a series. I like to skip around amongst some of my other favorites. But, I can't seem to leave this one. A side note - I hope Harry McGlade shows up in more stories. It's pretty obvious that his character is a good indication of how Konrath's demented mind works. Ever consider stand-up???

It's a shame that you weren't able to introduce these books at the same time as Jack's series. They would of helped in understanding the relationship between Jack and Phin. Worthy read and couldn't place the last installment to the Phin storyline.

And contrary to what some folks say, I love Harry's character. He's a breath of fresh air when everyone else is so serious. This is the book I have been missing. It answers so many questions about the Jack Daniels series.

You can read other, professional reviews (pay close attention to Dave Barry), to get an idea of they think. Read the blurb to find out what it is about.

Harry's parts are hysterical. Jack and Phin come to an agreement. Didn't see that coming. Did any of the other books in Jackdanielsverse ever mention Phin had a brother? If one did, I missed it.

Phin has a brother. The brother, Hugo, if he hasn't been mentioned before, is exactly the type of family member you just don't talk about.

This has a high rating for both violence and funny. I think funny should be a higher score.

Can I review this twice and give more stars? Didn't think so.

Scary, funny and heartbreaking. Phin has the scariest, evil brother ever. Couldn’t put this one down, so not much sleep, not to mention the nightmares.

Phin and Pasha are still together. Phin has a brother Hugo and while in prison, Hugo is recruited to serve the Caucasian Nation. In order to advance in rank, he must kill people in a specified order. He gets out of prison, kills Kenny and kidnaps Pasha in order to get to Phin.

It’s too bad that there so many errors in the book when a good proof reader could have made a difference.

I like the books about Jack Daniels and Phineas Troutt - not about Harry Mclade, those books are just plain irritating - and I wanted to find out what happened to Phineas. This book spends a lot of time on his extremely cruel and sadistic brother.

Maybe the storyline was good, but far too much time spent on the blood and gore - with vivid explanations. I'll be honest, this book gave me nightmares, even though I skipped most of the parts about Hugo.

Even trying not to read about Hugo, I read to the end as I wanted to know about Phineas.

Read only if you enjoy sadism, cruelty and torture - with graphic descriptions.
